You wouldn't know it by listening to a lot of them talk. Really threw me for a loop when I went there for the first time. I asked one guy if he grew up in Brooklyn and he told me he had lived in New Orleans his whole life.

To me, Atlanta is way snobbier than Minneapolis. I like Atlanta, but it kinda (and maybe rightfully so) has a "we're better than the rest of the South" aura to it
ETA: and take a drive down US-280 in Birmingham. You'll find plenty of snobs there

There are snobs here, sure, but they aren't yankees.
EDIT: I actually take offense that we aren't listed higher. WTF do Providence, Minneapolis and Santa Fe have to be snobby a/b?

Certain parts of Atl are snobby for sure. Buckhead, East Cobb, North Fulton

what does Minneapolis have to be snobby about?

While I'm sure there are plenty of Ohio scumbags walking around the market in Charleston, natives of the city can be pretty damn snobby themselves.

Yep, this. Charleston is fun, but savannah is much more receptive and friendly.

Yeah because being able to carry beers around downtown savannah is irrelevant. If you'd rather go watch a bunch of douche lords in vented fish shirts stand against the wall and judge other people who have the balls to have a good time, then by all means go to that city. Charleston's port and economy has gone down the shitter. When's the last time someone mentioned that Yankee jerking town in a movie or a book.

Charleston is literally RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of a massive economic boom. The entirety of upper King has been transformed by development, so much so that friends that moved as recently as 2 yrs ago are stunned when they come back in town. Quit talking out of your arse.

This is nice. Unfortunately, it's the only one up Savannah has on Charleston. 10 years ago it might've been appropriate to compare CHS to Savannah but those times are long gone. And honestly the fact that you can even sustain an open container policy downtown kind of speaks to the growth differential b/w the two places: CHS has had to tighten restrictions due to the massive influx of tourists and residents. Plus CHS is generally just cleaner and better kept than Savannah and something like that wouldn't fly.

Have you even been to CHS? And at this point I'd take the vented shirts over someone who uses the term "douche lord" seriously.
