Stanford, Oregon and tOSU. For what it's worth, Oregon will have some serious depth this year a la the 2010 team but with guys in the trenches that the predecessor was missing. Stanford has gotten their front 7 talent from the SEC and the 2011 oline haul was the best that any team has ever gotten.

BobAg and you bring up excellent points.
I don't see Ohio State or Oregon as serious threats to the SEC in the title game. Stanford may be getting closer, but I don't think they beat Alabama, Texas A&M, or Georgia at the end of last season. I think it might take an SEC-like team to defeat the SEC in the title game. Stanford is the closest thing to that in the country.

There is no one in the SEC that Oregon can't go toe to toe with, especially aTm and Georgia. Bama is the cream of the SEC right now.

I see it the other way. I think it's going to take a team like Oregon to beat the SEC (of course who knows what they are going to be like post-Kelly). I think when you don't have as good of athletes, you are better off being a little unorthodox, rather than trying to matchup styles and going toe to toe.

I do not think a team an "SEC-like" team, like Stanford, is going to get it done. That is kind of what Notre Dame was trying to do last year and it was embarassing. When you are outmatched athletically / physically, like most non-SEC teams will be, I think you are better off trying to keep the SEC team off balance, throw something different at them, like an Oregon style team could possibly do.

Moreover, it's becoming harder to say what an "SEC-like" team really is as there is a quite a bit of diversity of styles in the SEC now.
