But they are going to be terrible in Year 1. I think they’ll struggle up front, they’ll struggle in the secondary, the linebackers should be average. It’s going to take them three years to get a good foundation. It’s a product of bad recruiting—which is typical of Bobby Petrino. It’s the same thing that happened at Louisville that got Steve Kragthorpe fired. Petrino didn’t leave him any players. It’s the same thing at Arkansas. They have no players on defense…I think the young running back, Jonathan Williams, is going to be good for them.”

Arkansas fans might want to find a new hobby or two here in the next few months.

100% spot on. Petrino was a freaking horrible recruiter.

It was an assistant coach from some team in the West. Someone who really really wanted to take shots at Petrino.

Spurrier wouldn't say that anonymously.
Could've been Mullen. Or Muschamp.

Having watched the Rick Rowe piece on the recruitment of Jermauria Rasco, we got to see a lot of the big coaches doing their pitch in the kids house with him and his mom. Well other than Saban because he has to recruit from his office and refuses to be filmed while doing it. The best ones were Les Miles and Muschamp by a long shot. Petrino looked like he really didn't want to be there and was just a slime ball used car salesman. It was almost uncomfortable watching him try to be 'personable'. Especially compared to Muschamp and Miles. Mack Brown was personable but just couldn't make a personal connection. It was all about how awesome Texas is whereas Miles was more about helping that woman get what's best for the development of her son. Petrino could have been reading off a cue card with his finger on the words so he didn't lose his place.

Wow that article is full of lies. Petrino left Kragthorpe with plenty of talent including 18 starters from a 12-1 Orange Bowl team. Krags then went 6-6 in his first season and only got worse. To say CBP left Kragthorpe with no talent just shows how incomplete this guys facts are.

What if it was Kragthorpe who said this?
