I think I'll trust the guys that are currently recruiting him on this one. You know, the ones getting paid millions of dollars to coach and recruit and who have regularly put talent in the NFL

Yeah because they've never recruited a bust.

The chances of a kid this highly rated and recruited by those guys are far less likely to be a bust then a success.

ETA: And I guess a kid has NEVER improved from his high school tape that you watched either.

See, we can go both ways with this.

I think once he gets to college he will improve greatly but right now I don't think he's that great. He gets by because of his size not his technique.

I'm a pretty good judge of talent but the tape I've watched of other top DT's from previous classes have really opened my eyes in regards to who the great players are and just the good ones. I also have the benifit of playing the game and I can look into a mans eyes and see what kind of drive he has when times get challenging and can tell if he doesn't want to be there anymore.

6'6' 370 and the #10 recruit in the nation?

Rated at a 99 and is as fat (almost @ 375 OT) as any player in the NFL.. I'm calling t-total bullshite. And no, I'm not mad..

Please tell me you're joking. So how many times in competition have you "looked him in the eyes" so that you can enlighten us as to where his level of motivation stands?

Not necessarily. Most 5 stars don't live up to their scouted potential. Chris Davenport

This has to be one of the single greatest paragraphs in the history of the SEC rant.

I've played beside and against Micah Johnson and his form sucked. He was ranked the top linebacker in the nation out of high school and struggled in his first two years at Kentucky. The guy was talented but didn't work on the little things. He wasn't drafted either.

So you played against one guy who actually suffered from being played out of position in college and because he had shitty form in HS you're suddenly the guru on all DTs?

Hell if that's the case I was a trainer with a team that had a Heisman candidate QB and a future Super Bowl MVP at WR. I must be an offensive guru because I watched them in practice everyday.

Sorry, but I don't buy a 370 lb nose tackle being rated as the #10 player in the nation. I never will.

It is one thing not buying the hype he's getting, which I agree with. It is an entirely different thing to predict he'll never succeed at the collegiate level, or make an NFL roster, because you have "looked into his eyes and he's a quitter". WTF?

Not to get too far off topic, but I would wager a large amount of money Kentucky doesn't even make a bowl game in the next ten years. I get SEC SEC SEC, but I don't know what these kids are buying.

Why would I want a prototypical 3-4 NG to go to Kentucky?

He's already 370 isn't he. If he's not into discipline he's going to be a huge whale.

We were able to reel off 5 in a row after probation and under Brooks. Even Joker made a bowl game at one point. That's a silly wager.
