Miami 2000 had a legitimate argument to play for the NC, with a win over FSU....Canes fans already had shirts made that said "Miami 27 BCS Champs 24" in case FSU beat Oklahoma...we would have had a split championship that year, but OU won and made it all moot
Ohio State had a decent argument in 1998
2001 was a disaster as Nebraska got in over the team that rolled them and won their conference (Colorado), and over a 1 loss Oregon team...
2002 was a better match up, although you had a great Georgia team, and a USC team that popped up on the scene (with Carson Palmer), blowing people out
2003 was a disaster with a split championship
2004 is still a disaster with an undefeated Auburn team hanging in the air with nothing
2005 was actually the perfect match-up...the BCS's wet dream
2006 almost had a Big 10 rematch, but Florida was allowed to play for the NC
2007 was all over the place
2008 Texas was left out, despite beating OU. 1-loss USC was left out, and undefeated Utah had no shot after bullying Bama in the Sugar Bowl
2009 Boise State, TCU, and Cincinnati were left out because they weren't pretty enough
2010 TCU and Stanford are left out
2011 Oklahoma State is left out, Alabama gets a mulligan
2012 Notre Dame is considered the best defense in existence, and teams like Oregon and Florida are left out
Anyone who thinks the BCS has been a good system is flat out delusional...after Alabama's rematch, everyone had had enough of BCS shenanigans and opted for the 4 team playoff...

No doubt, the system before it was that Bowl Alliance crap, and you had the PAC 10 and Big 10 locked in the Rose Bowl...
'97 - split National Championship between Nebraska and Michigan, 1-loss FSU team that probably could have beaten both
'96 - Ohio State left hanging as #3 Florida wins a mulligan
'95 - Nebraska pummels Florida
'94 - Nebraska finally gets their National Championship win, but without playing Penn St.
'93 - Bowden and FSU finally win the NC, but get a pass after losing to Notre Dame earlier in the season
'92 - Alabama beats Miami (ends the Canes dynasty according legions of Crimson Tide fans)
'91 - Miami and Washington split the NC
'90 - Colorado and Georgia Tech split the NC
...and on and on and on....

The playoff coming is going to make the postseason explode though...

In the last 4 years, bama has won 2 SEC titles. It's a good run, but not a dynasty. Popularity votes and schedules helped bama with the three out of four bs. Everyone knows the SEC title is the only real title now that bama ruined the BCS.

If everyone will be honest, you know that Bama has only been very luckey to win the games which they won.
And they had the refs bought off.
And they cheat in every way under the sun.
The REC pays players.

Is it not the best conference is the nation? Is it not the only title that you have to earn? The BCS is a beauty pageant that looks at style points and stats to qualify.
