In his PC he said, “So we had 12 guys eligible for the draft, and nine of them got drafted, and three of them now signed as free agents. I think that’s even more compelling, that every guy that you have leaving the program has an opportunity to play at the next level.”

Every NFL eligible player on Bamas team is now in the nfl. To me that says something....I would imagine that says something to recruits to don't you think?

At the present time, our coaching staff shouldn't have to waste their breath trying to sell this program.

I'd imagine they have a sheet they hand out to their top targets. Bullet point the accomplishments over the past few years, pinpoint the above quote by NS.

Then, sit back on the sofa and let the recruit and his parents look it over and just ask them if they want on board.

It tells me if your not good enough to make an NFL team, your arse is getting processed before you graduate.

It's very impressive and I would think is something that helps in recruiting.

My question is, does this mean that all losses should fall squarely on Saban's shoulders?

Saban's job is not to recruit for LSU. He didn't say that LSU and others didn't have a lot of players drafted, he just spoke of Bama players. That is his job, to sell our program, and in doing so, why would he mention what other schools have done. If people want to know that information, it is easy to find. He was not putting down LSU, because he just didn't mention them.
quote:

The point was that I apprciate my coach and the way he helps the public and the recruits remember that he keeps giving them the opportunity to get to the NFL. All this talk about if they make it or not or make the roster is neither here nor there. He promises them a shot to make it in the nfl. In other words he promises them the oppertunity. What they do with it is up to them. The coach pulls through on his promises to give them a chance to compete at the highest level in football. Thats the best he can do. He prepares them and gets them there. What they do with it is up to them (Rolondo)....Roll Tide.
True words.

Also good PR.

Do kids that were processed from the team, but have been out of high school now for 3 years, get counted?

It says something about the SEC as whole. Any HS Kid that thinks he really may have a shot at the NFL that is not considering playing for an SEC school is an idiot. As a conference we waxed the others arse.

Only 12 made it to draft eligibility this year? Wonder what that means to the other 54 players Saban signed in that class?
