Win 2 of 3 this weekend in Nashville and you guys become a serious contender for a National Seed... My oldest brother is a State grad and I'm trying to talk him into driving up here for the game at AutoZone tomorrow night.... Congrats on a strong season thus far and the top 10 RPI.

I hope we can provide some inspiration for your team this week.

We can show you that it is possible to beat Memphis and USM in baseball.

I'll make a series prediction based on what I've seen from Cohen's teams the past couple seasons:

State and Vandy play a Sunday rubber match... In the top of the ninth in a 1 run game the Dawgs get the tying run to third base with less than 2 outs... They strand him there and State loses the series... Cohen gives Vandy and Corbin zero credit afterwards and says State beat themselves.

I'll be pretty impressed if we even take one game from Vandy.

We got swept by them by a total of 3 runs... Yall are a good bit better than us... State will win one for sure... Taking the series in Nashville will be a tall task though... SEC office definitely shite on this team schedule wise... Not getting Tenn, Georgia or Mizzou may be what costs yall a National seed... Should've given your scheule to aTm just for being the new guy... And for being so ghey.

I have basically 2 concerns with the MSU baseball team at the moment. One is the often unexplainable brain farts on the basepaths where we give away critical outs. We seem to do this routinely and this past weekend there was no better example than Ammarati running us out of a bases loaded situation trying to score from second on an infield fielder's choice ball. Who the heck does that? We subsequently lost the game 3-1. Wasn't in a game critical situaion but last week at A&M we had a guy make a 3rd out running to 3rd base tagging on a fly ball where the guy already at 3rd never tagged and tried to score so we ended up with 2 players standing on 3rd base. I mean how do you not look at the runner in front of you to make sure he goes? That's like little league stuff.

The other concern is we've gone from what was suppose to be a very deep pitching staff to a very thin pitching staff. Apparently the only guys Cohen is willing to pitch against SEC teams when it counts are Pollo, Graveman, Lindgren, RMitchell and Holder. Apparently there is no faith in anyone else although he did technically throw Fitts a couple of innings late when we were down to Auburn in the second game but that's the first time Fitts has pitched in 5 to 6 weeks. We need to have a few more SEC worthy arms than that to win regionals. I mean Sunday he trotted Holder out AGAIN in the 8th with us holding a 6-0 lead. I mean you don't have faith in ANYONE else to hold that kind of lead?

You do realize they lost to Georgia and Tennessee Tech this past week. Vandy is FAR from invincible. Im going in expecting to win one and hoping to win 2.

If we play up to the level of our competition, which we tend to do, then we could get a series win. The only problem is we play down to our lesser competition as well. With Evan Mitchell starting Tuesday we will already be in "Simple Jack" mode by Friday.

Well since we stopped using so many damn pitchers we have won 3 straight series. I have no problem with using our best pitchers against SEC competition as long as they are getting the job done.

Ben Bracewell is still solid..we do need Evan and Woodruff to get their shite together.

Well I just hope we don't burn out Holder's arm pitching him multiple innings in multiple games every SEC weekend before the post season gets here. I mean is there a reason to pitch Holder up 15-4 on TA&M in the 9th? up 6-0 on Auburn in the 9th? Just seems like undue wear and tear on the arm of your closer to me.

I agree with MM... Are Girodo and Bracewell hurt or are they being disciplined for some violation of team rules ? Havent seen those guys out of the bullpen since the Florida series.
