I could argue my side of this all night but the bottom line is not everything is black and white. Lots of gray areas and taking the law into your own hands can get you more trouble than it's worth sometimes. Vigilante justice is short-sighted thinking looking for immediate results. While in some cases it may be justified, seeking it is ignorant IMO.

Yes, but bodda was specifically talking about rape earlier.

Consenting adults is a different matter entirely.

No one's saying it is. I get what you're saying, though

Yup, it's a risk.

I don't think most would actively "seek" it. Again, I hear what you're saying, though

I would never seek vigilante justice, but if me or my family was in immediate danger I would take the law into my own hands.

If a person who harmed my family was out on the loose, I can promise I would be hunting him down though and he better hope the law gets him first. This is the only time I would consider seeking out justice after the incident.

But of course I know all the local cops anyways and could get such things covered up easily. That's just how the Delta works

Deltaland sure is posting like he would, but in reality I doubt he is actually that short-sighted.

Saying you'd be prepared to dish it out and actively seeking vigilante justice are different things, brah.

Not short-sighted at all

Da frick you mean by self-righteous? This guy is a major badass with cops in his back pocket. He clearly knows what he's doing and I for one would never give a member of his family even so much as a dirty look for fear of the delta wrath.

I'm not married yet, no. But that doesn't change how I am willing to protect my future family. I would be enraged past the point of any reason if somebody harmed my child. My father feels the same way that I do if someone were to harm me or my sister, or his wife.

What? I personally know many of the cops in the delta, and have for years. I know mayors, judges, etc. You must realize that where I'm from, sheriffs, judges, etc do that part time and many of them are farmers like my family. Farmers run and control everything in the delta. I know their stance on issues like these, I know many people who never went to trial for doing these exact things I'm talking about so I feel like if necessary, the law will protect me and see my actions as justified.

But this differs wherever you live, of course.

They aren't in my back pocket.. I just know them on a personal level along with people in the justice system, I know how MS laws are written, and I know if the situation arose, I would be seen as justified.

Hell I recently a guy I know shot a guy at 3 A.M trying to break in his neighbors house in Indianola. He didn't get in any legal trouble for it

The Delta is no different than the rest of rural MS, or many rural areas in the south.

It's just a "take care of each other" kind of thing.

The delta is actually a pretty cool place to visit especially if you're into history or culture. Or gambling (not just the casinos, but "in the back of the country store with farmers throwing 100K down on a dice throw kind of gambling).

How far outside of the family are you allowed to marry? 2nd cousins? 3rd? Can't pollute all them good breeding genes, right?
