Exactly. Dude wants to talk about "stats". Then talk about missed FG's in the 2nd half.

No, but seeing as LSU neither blew out nor got blown out in any game in 2012 I'm fairly confident in saying it would have been a very close game. Just saying

I understand your way of thinking as a new SEC member. But if you can try to recall Les Miles teams before 2009, you'll notice that we ran a completely different offense.
LSU has plenty of talent to be able to change their offense around when necessary.

What makes you think LSU will run a nohuddle out of the I with the QB under center???
LSU's nohuddle will be effective because they have the personell to go three, four and five wide with the same personell. Defense will not be able to sub out.
Three WRs
TE Dickson/Smith. Smith was the #2 high school TE in the country last year. Both TEs have the athletic ability to line up alongside tackle or flex out wide.
RB Blue/Hill/Magee. Blue almost was moved to WR last year because of his sure hands. Miles decided against it because he was the best RB on the team heading into the season. Hill is known to be a reliable receiver out the backfield. Magee was actually moved to WR last year. All three have the ability to line up in the backfield alongside the QB or line up in the slot.
This is why LSU has the ability to run an effective nohuddle. Multiple players with multiple skill sets.
First play. three wide, TE in tight and RB alongside QB
Second play, four wide, TE flexed out. RB alongside QB
Third play, five wide. Empty backfield.
That will be the LSU UPNH offense.

If you can try and recall, A&M was playing him and his offense at OSU long before LSU fans even knew who he was.
Miles has always been a wishy-washy guy when it comes to philosophy. He's a batshit crazy character who isnt really renowned for anything in the way of schemes but it seems to work for him. I think this will fail miserably, though. Zach Mettenberger and those receivers running hurry up screams head on collision.

Because I apparently have a higher opinion of Les Miles and Cam Cameron than you do. Lucky Les isnt God's gift to coaching but I doubt he's stupid enough to try and run a sophisticated, multiple look, wide-open no huddle even for short periods of games.
If he is, well, let the hilarity ensue. I imagine the first time a hurry-up snap sails over Mett's head because he was trying to get his receivers set will be fun to watch.

If so, I predict it lasts three offensive series. Gary Patterson and TCU have madea name for themselves stopping spread no-huddle offenses way better than LSU's. This would be a disaster.

LSU probably won't open up the offensive playbook against TCU IMO. I think Miles expects to have a large enough physical advantage to line up and overpower TCU's defense caveman style
Posted on 4/11/13 at 10:30 pm to molsusports
I agree they should, no reason to deviate from last year against TCU. They are very small on defense, but over the years they have consistently limited no-huddle attacks. They have mastered the 4-2-5.

And LSU outgained the aggies from the second quarter till the end of the game. Tigers led in TOP and points scored also in that time frame.
LSU spotted the aggies a 12 point lead and somehow found a way to win the game.
I don't think it was an upset. not sure but, I believe tigers were favored that saturday.
FYI your numbers don't add up to the actual game stats.

The A&M/LSU was not a well-played game by either team. It was ugly, there lots of stupid penalties and both offensive gameplans were pitiful for most of the game. Manziel played poorly and Mettenberger coudnt hit the broad side of a barn. Both special teams units had bad days. For as big a game as it was, the crowd was audibly bored at times.
It was a mudfight that LSU came out of slightly cleaner, nothing more. Hopefully next year is a better game.

You have your opinions about the offense, that's fine. But I think I'll trust our staff over your opinion.

Hey YON!!!
Could you please describe a two minute offense to me???
All Mett and the offense have to do is not huddle. Setup and call the play at the line. That alone doesn't let the "D" sub out.
They will have the offensive personell to run any formation they want. Nothing sophisticated about it.
You don't think Mett has ever taken a shotgun snap before?

Truth. Since 06' LSU has been in contention for the division title in every year November, except 08'. Not many other teams can say they have been in the race that late pretty much every year. I would guess UF in every year except 2011 probably.

Don't forget 2005...overtime wins over Auburn to snap their SEC winning streak and #3 in BCS Bama to win the West.
Since 2001, LSU has either won or been in contention for the West actually.....

This means nothing. You could also say the winner of the UA/AU game has won the BCSNC the last 4 years.

Agree. I think A&M comes back down to earth. Yeah, I'm an LSU homer but I think prognosticators are really underselling the Tigers, which is fine w/ me.
