What tournament was LSU in this year? And where was LSU when Alabama was in the NCAA tournament last year? You seem to be throwing a ton of rocks in a pretty big glass house.
Alabama returns everybody next year from a team that was already better than LSU this year, and brings in a couple top 100 players, too. LSU isn't the only team returning a bunch

do you have to be married and already graduated to be in need of money?

but our incoming class is one of the best in the country. unlike football....one good recruiting class can turn everything around. Add to that The Irish Hammer returning and we staaaaaacked

No way! Sounds like LSU is going to need three or four basketballs to utilize that great class and all their returning guys all next year though if they're nearly good enough to live up to the hype you're already putting on them.

No, you have to be married and already graduated to be in a similar situation to Hamilton.

I'm glad. He's been to more NCAA tournaments in fewer seasons as a head coach than Johnny Jones.

What a letdown. Back to the NIT retort.

I didn't mention recruiting classes at all. I just said both teams return a lot. Alabama returns everybody plus they bring in two top 100 recruits. That seems to be plenty of talent for one basketball next season. It's not like Johnny Jones is going to find sufficient playing time for 13 guys with all their returners and all the incoming freshmen.

Jones built UNT from the ground up. Grant was able to parlay some of Capel's success into his own. But neither really stepped into a goldmine at their previous stops.

Why did he never progress to a better job? That's a long time to be at one place.

Does Bama have a big recruiting class coming in? I have to admit, I don't have the time to follow basketball recruiting outside of the occasional look at what LSU has done.

Yea VCU had been to the NCAAt twice in the 21 years prior to Grant's arrival. He went in two of his three seasons there. As Bryant pointed out, he certainly found his way to a better job way quicker than JJ.

I don't know how in demand he was for aother jobs over his tenure there, so I can't comment on that. But I genuinely think that the LSU job is the one he wants to hang his hat on. I think he liked being at UNT and it became a good place for him to bide his time until LSU finally made the call to him.

Two top 100 players, a forward and a center. We are trying to add a Transfer (Ricky Tarrant), but he won't be eligible next season. We are also recruiting a few guards to add to this class.
