Where do you think Cam ranks? I had a hard time placing him in a loaded field. I feel like he'll either be boom or bust.
He's really going to need to tone down the complexities of his play calling for the college game. Les may be able to help with that.

Which ones have won a NC?

I knew for sure those three, but I wasn't sure about the others. Thanks

i didn't say anything about Cam

I did, asking what you anticipate from him. How's spring practice looking?

He'll be the prototypical LSU OC. Fans will hate him before October and want him out of BR.
The next OC will be the greatest hire ever, though.
Pretty much

It's hard to get a good read on Nuss from his time at Alabama. I feel like even someone like Choctaw or I could dial it up with a team that loaded.

Am I the only person not convinced Sumlin's an offensive genius just yet? I still remember Houston minus Case Keenum
That year, Houston played their 3rd and 4th string QBs and still ranked 11th in total offense, and 13th in scoring offense. I don't think that's too shabby.
And JFF isn't the first freshman QB Sumlin coached to a win over a #1 team. Reggie McNeal threw 4 TDs to topple #1 OU in 2002. And speaking of beating OU, many people were saying A&M would miss Kingsbury calling plays in the Cotton Bowl, but the offense didn't slow down one bit.
Maybe Sumlin just keeps getting lucky w/ all these great QBs like Keenum and JFF and sharp OCs like Holgorsen and Kingsbury landing in his lap, but at some point you have to start thinking he's bringing something to the table himself.

Yeah Kingsbury was nothing but a pawn. I have mad respect for Sumlin.

Just look back to McElwain. He had the talent and a great system to use that talent, but was a pretty average playcaller. Nussmeier is far better in-game than McElwain was

I will agree with that, but I always saw McElwain as average or subpar at play calling. Nuss is a definite upgrade.

Has any SEC coach put up a more impressive array of offenses than the aforementioned?

An HC's job is to recruit, make good staff hires, and keep everyone on the same page. It seems to me Sumlin has already done this.

That's an interesting thought. During the season, I thought many Tide fans were upset that he did not lean on the run more. Most notably, at the end of the game against Aggy.
