I'd still put his work at USC above Les' tenure at LSU. USC has made a quantum leap under his leadership, LSU has taken a noticeable step back under Miles.

We took a step back from two sec championships and one national championship to two sec championships and one national championship. Seriously, either be funny or clever or go ruin another thread. If this was deadspin back when it was good (like 2004), you'd have been thrown on #hineyholeisland.

I'm not being funny. LSU is in a worse position now than when Miles took over. that's a fact and saying it doesn't make me a troll. every single thread on this site goes this way with you LSU favs. grow a pair.

How?

Because it is ridiculous on it's face. Year One, maybe - Year THREE, sorry its Miles' team pure and simple.

So ALL of the upper classmen aside from juco transfers (if there were any) were saban recruits

Not even close - Go look at the roster.

First, MOST of the players on that team never played a down under Saban. I don't remember the exact figure but I think it was more than 80% of the starters were either recruited directly by CLM or were redshirt or first year bench riders under Saban so to give Saban that credit is moronic at best.

Moreover, its not like recruiting ever dropped off under Miles, in fact the worst recruiting cycle in the Miles era was Saban's last...

LSU has not won a chanpionship without multiple classes of Saban recruits since the 1950s. I'm not saying miles isn't decent, I'm just pointing out the facts. you guys would understand lists like this one if you'd just accept that this is how the world views miles. and for good reason, he's had plenty of chances to so it with his own players, and hasn't gotten it done.
