I want a bull mastiff as my next dog. I have always wanted one.
I'm living in my grandmother's house right now. It is up for sale. I am having hell finding a place to rent with some type of yard that will allow dogs. I'm sure I'll have to move soon, unless this house just doesn't sell, which I doubt.

He was prob chewing on a dead animal or something. You'd feel like shite for a couple days if you ate road kill too.
Tail wagging?
The dog's tail, I mean. :P

He was wagging it earlier. He is sleeping now. You can tell that he just feels horrible though. I'm still very worried about him.
Eta: I just realized that he will be 10 years old on October 5.

I had a collie, german shep, and alaskan malamute growing up. The malamute got stolen though. It was a pure breed and really pretty.
We had a large back yard at the end of a deadend street with woods stretching back maybe half a mile before the next subdivision. Perfect for dogs. My grandad was a vet and I asked for the collie when I was maybe 7 or 8 and the shep 4-5 years later. He found a pup of each and gave each one to me on my birthday that year.
Love big dogs. Like some medium size breeds. Hate small ankle biters.
I live in a high rise condo now. They allow the small ankle biter variety which just makes me angry.
Really do think the beagle is cute and need a pat on the head.

I actually like yorkies. They stop yapping after a few months, and they're fun to play with. Pugs are fun too.

I just cannot stand any small agressive dog. They irrationally infuriate me and make me want to kick them.
Several people in my building have them and they seem to sense I hate them as well.

I've never seen a mean yorkie or pug. They love ppl.
The best dog you can own, IMO, is a golden retriever.

I grew up with two St. Bernard's. they are amazing dogs for kids. This dog is the smallest that I've ever had.

Has he thrown up? Does his stool look normal?

Yeah, he might have just eaten some bad. I know how you feel. My little man had parvo one time and it scared the shite out of me. We had to administer him with an IV and shoot fluids in his body and also shove antibiotics down his throat and by some miracle, he survived a disease that kills most dogs. Hope your pup turns out fine.

Hope your dog gets better or you find out what's wrong with it, MSCoastie.

parvo
Worked graveyard shift in an animal hospital one summer while I was in college. Parvo puppies are so sad.

When I was a kid, I was scared to death of them little bastards but never was afraid of the bigger dogs. Boxers are my favorite but also loved my collie that I had while growing up.
I hope your dog gets better Coastie.

Thanks. I hope he does too. I'm still sitting here watching him.
My brother has a Boxer. That bitch is crazy. She is cool as frick though.

The boxer I had when I was a kid used to jump up and take my hot dog away from me and then peel the outside of the wiener off and eat it then eat the middle part next. He was crazy too

I think they're all crazy.

Just read through the thread. As others have said, pale gums are a trouble sign. If his gums are still pale, I would take him to the vet immediately.
Our lab started laying around not moving very much, very lethargic. I waited a couple of days to take her to the vet to see if she got better, and the vet took one look at her and asked me to leave her with him. He called me an hour later and said that he needed to do surgery to see what was happening with her, the pale gums were a sure sign.
He operated on her that afternoon and we found she had cancer on her liver. He removed what he could, but she died a couple of months later. She was my best friend.
Not trying to scare or alarm you, but pale gums could mean bad things. I would not wait if it were me. Best of luck.
