going up today for the Kentucky game. Been to Fayetteville several times but I wanted to know what the best places to eat are? probably eat lunch Saturday before the game and then go somewhere for dinner that evening. I'm pretty familiar with most of the chain restuarants (Shogun, Red Lobster, Outback, etc) any must visit places?

I'm partial to BBQ. I really like Herman's, Boar's Nest, & Penguin Ed's. Sassy's is good, also (I like the duck), & has a little more unique cuisine than the traditional BBQ. Of course, Whole Hog is good, as well.

I'm not very up to date on the Fayetteville food scene, but I would have to say Cafe Rue.

I normally don't eat seafood when I'm in Fayetteville since I live in Baton Rouge & can't get good BBQ here for shite, but Powerhouse Seafood & Grill seems alright. (I got steak.) Mermaids is good, but I probably like Catfish Hole the best. I love good catfish, and believe it or not, it's hard to find that in BR, as well.

lunch Saturday

Hammontree's right off of Dickson is a great lunch spot. It gets crowded though, so there may be a wait.

I love their Kilowatts, but their fish and service is horrible.

I've only been there twice, but the service & my strip were really good. Like I say, I ain't eating seafood in Fayetteville. I will eat catfish there because people in BR don't seem to know how to cook it, and the quality is subpar here.

For lunch, get to Mama Dean's early, and order the twice cooked chicken. You'll thank me later!

Where is this place located? I kinda know the general area but some landmarks would help.

Southside of town, below 15th and where the Salvation Army is. Basically across from Mtn. Man pawn and down the road just a ways. I think it was a Mr. Burger for a long time.

Blue building, random junk around the side of the building so you know it's authentic Arkansas.

I freaking love their calamari.

My typical dinner there consists of a big plate of calamari and 3 kilowatts.

Fancy, I know.

As far as seafood and cajun, go to Lyn D's on Poplar. A hole in the gound but legit. P.S. don't accidently go inside any of the surrounding businesses.

Great spot. You can hit up Bottom's Up for a nice after dinner treat.
