Alabama... Then there's LSU, UF, USC, and even perhaps Vanderbilt in the mix for the next in line. Vandy's defense has been legit the past 2 seasons, and they return most of their starters (only lose 5 I believe with 6 or more starts). LSU loses 9 from '12, UF loses 7 and USC lost 6...
LSU loses 6 starters off their defense, not 9.
Has a lot of experience and talent returning, too.
The biggest myth in the SEC right now is that LSU lost everyone. They return 14 starters overall and 33 of 44 from the 2 deep.

I listed players LSU lost that according to their official stats started 6 or more games. That is what I consider to be substantial starters when they are deemed good enough to start half a season's worth of games. And I was wrong: LSU loses 8 of those players, not 9:
Minter: 13/13
Reid: 13/13
Simon: 13/13
Logan: 13/12
Montgomery: 13/10
Mingo: 13/10
Downs: 13/10
Edwards: 13/6 (tied for 2nd on team in sacks, 6th in TFL)
