...and would it be possible, if the rule were changed, for your school to sell it if it was changed?

I believe at least one SEC school is in a dry county. And a lot of schools reside in the so-called "Bible Belt" and would face repercussions from that quarter.

That being said, I believe the time has come. Those people who want to drink will find a way, and already have. That is money that is being missed out on.

Besides selling alcohol in the stadiums, schools could also charge fans something like $5 per flask. Loyal fans would have no problem supporting their school this way. Fans that were of age to drink would get a wristband with a bar code and would only be allowed a certain number of drinks.

The demand is there. The money is untapped. This needs to happen ASAP.

I dont have a strong opinion either way; but regardless, 'll stick with my flask

(checking the IDs of every student/fan and/or issuing bracelets at the gates sure would cause some gridlock somewhere)

A few of of the objections seem to based on fears of vastly increased alcohol use.

If the rule were changed, what do you think the O/U is on the amount of additional fans drinking that otherwise wouldn't?

I'm going to say with an O/U of 25%, it would be under.

I'd go on the over and then every university would get a billion and a half lawsuits when some drunken alumnus or undergrad killed himself or someone else driving home from a game.

If we could sell beer in the stadium people would leave the grove early and actually get to the game on time.

People wouldn't leave the game in the 3rd or 4th quarter to get more drink. It would help us keep butts in seats. And it would bring in a ton of money for the school.

Also we need to let casinos sponsor. That's untapped revenue as well. Tunica and other casinos around the state would love to sponsor college gameday events.

Do MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL teams get sued when fans make bad choices after games?

My friend thought out an interesting idea. I know that they are worried about underaged drinking and everything, but have a reserved area with bars and a drinking area. People can not take drinks out of this area. I get there would be a lot of traffic in the area, but I think that can be worked around to make it convenient for people. Even if you need several of them.

Get a box, bring in your own alcohol.

Opening up alcohol sales to our redneck masses will lead to massive upticks in violent incidents inside the stadiums.
