AgTags are the gayest thing on the internet since gay porn. They play on the worst stereotypes of douchebag Fish Camp types constantly looking for further ways to prove that they're "real" Aggies. You're a silly count if you care about the legitimacy of other posters on an anonymous message board.
I also think you've got to be naive to not give a second thought to the constant efforts by TA admins to gather more personal information on site users in conjunction with the fundraising arms of the school. The re-verification bullshite should have raised a red flag; has nothing to do with proving you're a "real Aggie" to message board admin ****s, it's pure data mining.

I think the tags are interesting. It lets people know who actually went to A&M, who contributes to the 12th man, who uses 5th C, etc.
You may be right about the verification, but then again they may just want to eliminate some of the non Aggie posters with fake tags who get on the Aggie Only section.

Since I know Billy, he follows me on twitter, and I would tell anyone about my donations to my University, I'm not overly concerned about it. You're exactly right, it is 100% data mining, plain and simple, but it is whatever.
