How the hell is that evidence of a "knockout game?" That's evidence that we all know now as fact that they beat up two people and stole their ACT cards and a laptop. What exactly is evidence of your little game?

quote:

Jurgens said he has never met his attackers before and wasn’t sure if they attacked him with specific intent to rob him.

“It’s almost like they were doing it for fun, because it seemed weird that they didn’t rob me of my wallet or phone or keys,” he said. “But, I just know they sure did an efficient job because I can’t recall parts of it even today.”

Both victims were knocked unconscious. The assaults were done in a group. Robbery doesn't seem to be the primary motive, just from the quote that is from this LINK. You can get your panties in a wad about the phraseology "Knockout game," but it fits right in with the typical "game" as it is "played."

the808bass, thanks for bringing sanity here. I just realized that the objections to the incident being categorized as a "knockout game" were coming from an Alabama fan, and that he was probably being protective.

Let me be clear here: This sort of thing could happen on any campus, or anywhere. THAT IS WHY I posted the topic - to openly and honestly vett and get to the reasons behind it all, so that perhaps we can root it out and stop it. Whether it's happening at Alabama or LSU (remembering the # of violent incidents) or Pitt or Wisconsin or St. Louis or WHEREVER, it needs to be discussed, vetted, and stopped. Being offended over whether it's called "Knockout Game" or whatever only is an infantile politically correct response to a serious non-political issue.

So, again, what should/can be done? How is this dealt with?

Except, they did steal from both victims. One had a laptop and it was stolen. They took cards off of both of them. They were arrested for robbery. Since they didn't take their keys and go for grand theft auto, it was just for fun? And how does a kid who gets quickly beaten unconscious have any idea of why they were doing it at the time? This writer is just a clown reaching to get clicks and get his name talked about.
