Bear in mind that neither one actually won shite as the Head Hog.
Call it a battle of the cream of the crap.
I'd take Hootie myself. I think he' a better recruiter, a better person, and a better ambassador to the school while being inferior to Bobby in the actual coaching department.
Also the entertainment value of HiV would be rise exponentially.

The only thing Petrino did better than Nutt was the passing game. That's pretty much it.
