Awful for a parent to be so selfish. The kid's biggest day of his life, and he's become a national story in an embarrassing way.

I know it's unlikely to happen 100% across the board, but once it's over, I hope anyone who sends him any sort of message just simply congratulates him, and refrains from any sort of comments on the situation.

Won't happen.

Those who shouldn't have twitter for this reason are exactly the ones who have it and use it non-stop, cause their opinions matter.

All of that talk about him possibly flipping earlier had me worried. Media. Alex seems like a great kid and hopefully he can put this all behind him.

I hope we turn this into a positive. All the support staff we have for the athletes can help the kids with school and the issues that come up for college students away from home with parents that aren't exactly interested in the best interest of the kids.

I'm gonna be rooting so hard for Alex. Korliss Marshall as well, not for the same reasons, KM's momma is terribly proud of Korliss for getting this scholarship. Osceola is a tough place to come from.

My hometown is similar where there's not a lot of positivity or positive influences and even the smart kids have a bit of trouble getting through school.

1:38 Arkansas still has one key person there in their corner. Hopefully with assistance this can get worked out to where Alex can sign with who he wants to.

Otis just posted again
quote:

They need her to sign because he can come and it won't be binding until he attends class here. But this kid can't go thru that for a few months, he would get hammered down there 24/7. She needs to realize in 3 years the kid is going to the NFL and she can't tell Roger Goodell or however you spell his name my son has to go to the Dolphins. Everyone loves their kids but sometimes you have to respect their decisions and trust they are doing the right thing If they aren't they can't come back and blame the parent because they made the decision.

Mike Farrell ?@rivalsmike 15m
Alex Collins situation is what makes coaches age by years in months. #Miami could get him back. Stay tuned. #Arkansas #RivalsNSD
