I've compared Henry to Witten more times than I can remember when talking to people here in Dallas.
Obviously not that he will (or won't) necessarily have a similar career. Just that he literally looks like him, running routes, and catching the ball.

Last transfer from Michigan worked pretty well.

I'm fine (excited, even) about the class, but I suppose I can understand being disappointed with the ending.
Though I personally think that's more of a function of how built up "SIGNING DAY!" has been over the years.

I'm happy with our class just as it is. Especially the linebackers. The rest of this morning is just lsu melt entertainment.
Agreed. If anything, a simple "good luck" to someone like Cleveland seems sufficient. I cannot imagine the thought process behind some of the vitriolic things I see thrown at recruits who "spurn" some of these schools.
Especially when you realize that it's not kids sending them, but some 40-year old with a rather warped perspective on things.

It always makes me a bit uncomfortable when someone goes somewhere due to outside pressure, to the point where even if it were working in our favor, I'm not sure I'd be for it.
It's one thing when you go somewhere, even with parental pressure to go somewhere else (i.e., Alex Collins). It's another when you basically acquiesce to pressure to go somewhere that you otherwise might not have decided to go, to make other people happy.
Drama begets drama, and whatnot.

I'm not going to hold anything against a kid for their parent's actions as it relates to the recruiting process. Primarily because I find the process as it stands leaves me with an oily, nauseous feeling, generally speaking.
Fulton hasn't done anything I've seen that warrants any sort of vitriol. And while I am not a parent, hypothetically, if I were, and my son were that level of athlete, I would let him make his own decision. That said, there is zero doubt if he didn't end up in Fayetteville, a part of me would be crushed. I don't know that I'd be on a message board somewhere commenting on it, but still.
In any case, this sort of thing is why I limit my exposure to recruiting to a week or two prior to signing day, and the press conference going over the recruits afterwards (I always enjoy those).

I don't think you can blame being in Little Rock for the loss.
I absolutely hope they use it as an excuse to not play there, however.

I wouldn't give up McFadden's years for anything; probably the most consistently entertaining football in my lifetime, with Matt Jones as really the only conversation I could have.
(Also, F Troy Smith)
That said, yeah, he would've been a pretty damn good safety.

I too am (un)reasonably angry at this.

If I'm being honest...the potential reaction alone makes me almost interested.
Almost.
Almost.

Better to lose them to promotions(as far as general perception goes) as opposed to having to fire them.

Depends; in this hypothetical, is Florida vigorously campaigning for one more year of eligibility for Reggie Fish?

I know it's unlikely to happen 100% across the board, but once it's over, I hope anyone who sends him any sort of message just simply congratulates him, and refrains from any sort of comments on the situation.

Unrelated to the whole AC saga, is there an expectation of some sort of press conference going over all the recruits later today, or an expected time for such? I always enjoyed those.

Seriously. For most kids in this situation, the biggest day of their young lives, and this.
And he seems like such a good person; regardless of what happens, you feel bad for him.

Honestly, while it's obviously preferable to keep in-state talent in-state, I always appreciate someone sticking by a commitment.
Obviously getting another well-regarded recruit like Collins helps(and one who seems like a genuine human being who will be easy to root for), but even had we not, I just can't really find it within me to wish 17-18 year olds ill will for making a personal decision that doesn't -really- affect me at all.

Rumor from a Rivals guy that Neal tried to commit to Ohio State, and they told him "no thanks"; supposedly they're holding out for Stefon Diggs.

Does anyone know when the yearly press conference going over all the signees typically goes up?
I look forward to that almost as much as opening day.

Though that does get me wondering...has he said anywhere whether he wants to continue wearing #5 in college?
I'm not all that into the whole "retirement" of jersey numbers, and a cursory investigation shows that there are just a few at this point. But if I were nominating one, off the top of my head, #5 would probably be my pick.
