2008 - Alabama
2009 - Alabama
2010 - Florida
2011 - Alabama
2012 - Alabama
2013 - Alabama

Damn, this is getting frickin old.

If I'm Malzahn, I keep doing what I'm doing but start to employ a new tactic, starting with the 2014 class. Alabama fans I know are even admitting that they don't think Saban will be around for more than 3-5 years. There are rumors of his retirement happening possibly even before the 2015 season.

I plant this seed in recruits minds (that we go head to head for with them) that he is getting up there in age, and retirement rumors are running rampant. Saban leaves, and your chances of making the NFL and winning championships go down significantly. Commit to me, I'm going to be here for the long haul. I will be your head coach the entire time you are here, and the odds are very good that Saban retires before your time at Alabama is up.

Don't really expect it to change until Saban is gone. He's definitely got it rolling over there.

Alabama's dominance is literally the worst thing happening in my life right now.

Things are going pretty great, all things considered.

It'll just make it all the more sweeter when we beat them, really. Saban isn't eternal, they'll slip down eventually.

IT'S THE CIRCLE OF LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFE

Saban is only 61.. he's got 8-10 years left if he really is as passionate about coaching as he seems. Spurrier is going strong at 67 and I fully expect him to hit 70 while still coaching at USCe.

Not totally sold on Saban leaving soon.. and if that's what you have to sell recruits then you're never going to win the battle.

Saban is a perfectionist. He won't want to coach unless he is mentally 100% and giving 100%.

You've been able to tell that Spurrier has been going downhill in mental sharpness for 3-4 years now.

I just can't see Saban still wanting to coach knowing that he isn't as sharp as he used to be. I also think he will get bored because he's reached the absolute top and there's nowhere else to go.

If you call an SECCG appearance, 31 wins over 3 seasons, and two New Year's bowl wins declining

He certainly looks bored holding up trophies and beating our arse.

I think his stress factor is going down... Things seem to fall right into place for him..

He is doing something right

He looks shell-shocked in post game interviews after close ones. Lsu and a&m come to mind. I don't think he could handle a string of 2-3 loss seasons. Guess it'll come down to how long he can hold on to this success.

Spurrier isn't even close to as OCD as Saban is.

The way the guy demands so much of himself is not healthy. I don't see him coaching more than 4 more seasons. JMO.

We have recruited well enough to beat bama. No team in the last two years has gotten as little from their talent.

THIS.

Seriously you don't have to have the number one class to be succesful. Look at teams like Notre Dame and USCw that are recruiting lights out and still falling short every year.

Auburn has recruited at a high enough level the last few years to compete with anyone. Coaching and development of players is the problem.

Not to mention that I really don't like negatively recruiting against other schools. I want kids that come to Auburn because they love Auburn.

This.

We have recruited and landed some of the star HS players the past few years and, aside from Cam, they have done little more than embarrass this university.

You have to remember only around 40 players play the majority of the snaps. You don't need 25 studs in each class (it helps if you want to process some). You can compete with 10-15 very good players each class and the rest solid or developmental players. In order to win like this player discipline and development are key.

It is the discipline and development that has been lacking from our program, not the recruiting.
