New Orleans is overrated but it's a way better city than Atlanta. Atlanta=Dallas with a shitty stadium.

Yawn... It's still crappy.. Once you been there once its no need to go again.. Same stuff, different day.. I cant believe how the locals rave about this place.. There is nothing outside of the fq/cbd area

What is the obsession with NO... Its an overrated city with a lot of bars and overrated restaurants with crappy music... NO should never host the SECCG, NEVER!
I'm sure you probably hear this a lot, but you're really really stupid.

The SEC Office prefers Legion Field

What many fail to understand is that the NFL takes full control of the stadium about 2 weeks before the game.
Not to mention the countless number of hours spent discussing grids and such.
If anyone is to blame for this (an honestly, I thought it wasn't really that big of a deal), then start with Goodell.

In conclusion, no.
The parades weren't for the Super Bowl. It just happened that the game fell during Mardi Gras season. There wouldn't be huge parades in early December for the SECCG.
Atlanta will have a new, state of the art facilit in probably less than 5 years - comparable to Jerry's World - so the SEC will have the newest venue in the country to host the game, and if the weather is nice enough, they will be able to open the roof.

After watching the Super Bowl halftime show, its obvious the SEC is depriving itself by not hosting a championship game in New Orleans.
Not just New Orleans, but with the recent westward expansion Houston, Dallas, St. Louis, and Kansas City should figure into the rotation. This isn't about what a few schools want, but a decision that should benefit the conference as a whole.
The SEC is leaving a lot of money on the table by not opening up the SECG location for bids. Money that could go into the coffers of YOUR school. There's a reason the NFL bids out the Super Bowl locations. Because it makes more money that way. The SECG could and should be making a lot more money for the conference as a whole. Not to mention, giving the fans of the schools involved a different location to travel to.
Nothing against Atlanta, but fair is fair. Other major cities in other SEC states deserve a shot at hosting the biggest game in NCAA football.

I just don't get how you can say there is nothing outside of the quarter or business district. I'm not a huge fan of the city but you kid yourself to say it isn't special and unique with attractive qualities for visitors.

What is so unique outside the cbd/fq area... ? Please tell!

I'd be up for a rotation, would be cool IMO.

Haha, you say it shouldn't benefit just a few schools and you pick cities that are on the extreme borders of sec territory.
Atlanta is fine. Yes I'm biased but its clearly the best option to be fair to the majority and it wouldn't be good for the sec to have a half full game in Kansas City or Dallas.

Why would the game be half full in Dallas?
