Nerlens Noel dominated the paint on the defensive end, blocking 11 Rebels shots and altering many, many more. The 11 blocks is a Kentucky record. Noel finished with just two points and seven rebounds, but his impact was felt throughout.

No.
You have some kids out there right now who are better, more well-rounded packages. I think you absolutely make an argument for Noel as Defensive POY though.

They don't give it to players from shitty teams.

Genro, I don't like night worms. Nice try though.

Noel is too much of a liability on offense. Kentucky doesn't even look to throw him the ball in the post at all. Filthy shot blocker though.

That's not a flame. The winner is virtually always from a top 5 or 10 team.

Like I said, I think he's absolutely in the conversation for Defensive POY with his shot blocking and steal prowess.

but like belle said, he'll be up there for dpoy. i think it's withey's award to lose right now but noel is fricking good defensively.

Noel has really turned it on lately. I think he might actually pass Withey in blocks sometime this season.

Reminds me of Scotty Hopson's haircut from Tennessee

I think clearly he could be the defensive player of the year, no doubt. But as others have said, he needs to be scored 14 points a game consistently, and he's not. He's not a good shooter more than a couple of feet from the basket, and UK doesn't do enough to get him the ball.
Now, that defensive display he put on last night in the last 5 minutes... jaw dropping... Wow!

He already has. He leads the country right now in total blocks (showed the graphic last night).

Please enlighten us to how Noel has cheated? And if you even say he is allowed too much contact as a State fan knowing the rest of the SEC had to deal with Jarvis Varnado climbing up their backs for blocks for a few years, well, hopefully you come up with something better than that.

Ever heard of Trey Burke? That kid shits all over Noel.

well lets see in the LSU game he was on the court making 6 guys on the court and pulling a defender away from double teaming. plus everyone knows he got paid to go to uk.

This must be the basketball equivalent of Alabama holds for you all right now.

Wait a second... You actually think he was IN the game and part of the play as a sixth player? You're a new kind of dumb if you think that.
