That's a 442. Same as the 642 I posted. It's the blued version.

Not if you join Team Glock.

I wouldn't recommend a Glock for a lady to carry. I carry one, when I don't have my 642. Depends on the situation.

They're great guns. I've also found, in my experience, that women are good shots with them in general.

Why wouldn't you recommend a Glock?

This is the one I mentioned earlier with the Crimson Trace laser. This is the exact one we have. Point that at a bad guy and hit him with the laser and he will crap his pants running away from you.

No safety pretty much. If you have a round chambered, and it's in your purse, it would be very easy for the trigger to be bumped, causing an accidental discharge. You really need to carry a Glock in a holster. I would recommend a small semiauto, like the one posted earlier, with a safety before that. And before that, the S&W hammerless models. They're practical, and nearly foolproof. (Not saying women are fools, mind you. )

Yeah. I need a safety.

If anyone is likely to accidentally discharge a gun in their purse, it's me.

Those can be at the most inopportune times.

So I've heard.

I might be late but here's a suggestion Coastie.

I like the Beretta Nano. LINK

It's a micro subcompact, uber concealable. Only weighs 17 ounces, single stack. It's a great pocket or purse carry. 9MM ammo.

Good luck, stay safe.

I've seen em. And recommend those for any pistol they carry. I'd still recommend a revolver first. They wouldn't have to remove it from the purse to fire.

Ruger LC9 also has a safety. When it's not crazy like it is now, you can get one with crimson trace for $400.
