He is our running back coach now at TCU and I just want to know if he has any skeletons in the closet before getting excited about his hiring.

Despite what the fricktards will tell you on this board, he's a good coach that produced 3 1,000 yd rushers over his time at Auburn.
Tate, Dyer twice, Mason. He's a good hire.
Mason had 529 yards in your 4 non conference games and only 473 yards in 8 SEC games. He did not break 85 yards against an SEC team and two of his most productive days in the SEC were against A&M and Bama where he had 80 and 82 yards with much of it coming against scrubs in mop up duty. Mason had 1,000 yards on the season, but I wouldn't put that on my resume if I'm Luper.

This board will be full of shite regarding him but he was a damn good RB coach.

I don't think there is anything specific, with regards to Luper. He's from Texas, played/coached at Ok State... so he's got a solid B12 background.
He's a pretty good coach, IMO.

So, you are saying rushing for 1000 yards with our shite offense last year was not impressive? GTFO.

quote:How many carries did the RBs I mention share? OMac, Cam, Fannin all got their carries on top of the 1,000 yard rushers. It was an impressive feat. You just like to shite on everything and refuse to give anybody credit.
1000 yards is about 88 yards per game, it is not that impressive.

We have little to no depth at RB last year thanks to Luper and his bad recruiting. Good riddance.

I like how you failed to mention in 3 of those 8 SEC games he got less than 10 carries (8 against MSU, 9 against LSU, & 6 against Arky). Hell, he averaged 9.2 carries in 5 out of the 8 SEC games.
In the other 3 games in which he carried the ball 16 or more times, he had 80, 85, & 82 yds.
Against A&M...
5 carries in the 1st half - 30 yards (6 ypc)
7 carries in the 2nd half - 50 yards (7.14 ypc)
One of those 1st half carries was a one yard TD run. Take that out and he averaged 7.25 ypc.
Against Bama...
10 carries in the 1st half - 43 yards (4.3 ypc)
11 carries in the 2nd half - 39 yards (3.5 ypc)
All of this with one of the worst OLs in the league, no QB, and an awful OC.
So what were you saying again there smart guy?
