This is a gem of a thread. It deserved the bump with the lines coming out today. This will be the gift that keeps on giving.
He trolled the hell out of you.
And you bit hard.

Every game is winnable -- that's why they're played instead of simply called ahead of time. However, that doesn't make it likely. The odds are very much against UT pulling off an upset against Oregon, especially so early in the season and so far away from home and in a stadium well known for giving a home field advantage. I'll be happy if we play respectable football.
The measuring stick for UT this year should be along the lines of:
1. are we fighting for every down even if we're getting trounced or outmatched?
2. are we disciplined?
3. are we seeing a well-coached team given the cards we've been dealt?
4. are we improving?

I never saw the thread and didn't want to post this as a new thread (the line that is). In my post search, this gem was discovered. Whether he was trolling or serious, I don't have any fricks to give. My guess is that the SEC rant is where you troll Oregon fans.

Not gonna lie I was kind of nervous. Wish Tennessee would be good again so the Florida-Tennessee rivalry would mean something again.
That's not going to happen for a while. Neither team will be good enough.

Nothing to do with the thread - just an observation:
LSU fans are going to start pulling hard against UT just so they are able to continue to cry about Alabama's schedule.

I hope you're wrong. I've always liked LSU but acting as though UT hasn't earned enough respect over the past 100 years to get a treated as such during a down cycle is pretty bad.

Well, if anything Butch can get talent to UT. Not sure why people don't think they will cycle back. It really sucks that we get an SEC team out west and they are at their low point. At least Oregon will get test their DLINE against a good oline.

Neither team?
Unlike Bama, UT and LSU, UF has not experience a prolonged down turn since expansion #1..
We have too many built in advantages to stay down for 8 years.

Weren't you saying not too long ago that Oregon would win in a blowout?
eta: found it LINK
It looks fairly obvious to me this thread was made tongue in cheek.

True, but you've had those advantages for 60 years. And that means we have to ignore the first 100 years of your football program, during which time only MSU was worse, as far as current SEC members go.

I think that's definitely true today but UT hasn't laid a goose egg since 1891 (our first season which was student coached and we only played 1 game). UF has also reached depths that UT has never experienced.
Going 0-10-1 in 1979 is pretty awful and yet y'all bounced back and eventually got to the point of being a powerhouse team.

8? How about 58? Like from 1933 to 1990? Has the state of Florida had warm weather, hot blondes, beautiful beaches, and an overabundance of football talent for only the last 20 years? All those decades that Florida couldn't win an SEC championship, were their instate rivals worth a shite? Hell no.
What SEC school as recently as 1988 had never won neither an SEC football championship nor an SEC basketball championship?
