Even though OSU was undefeated, they didn't play anybody.
I'd take a 1-loss Bama over them in a second.

We've seen Ohio State fold in the BCS before. They saved face by not being eligible.

Not according to ESPN. THey did a mock BCS standing with Ohio State when all was said an done.....Bama would've been #2 and Ohio State #3
I can't find where I saw it, but here is the tweet by Brad Edwards on 11/26 after Ohio State finished there last game against Michigan.
"Inserting AP percentages for Harris and coaches' polls, Ohio State would be 5th in BCS this week (.8751). Surprising "
I highly doubt a win over Nebraska would've bumped Ohio State over #2 Bama who then beat #3 UGA.

Ohio State is a joke. They'd finish 5th in SEC. The only one who can argue with a straight face they had a shot at Bama was Aggies.

The AP had us above tOSU despite them being unbeaten, so no reason to think the Coaches Poll and Harris Poll wouldn't have done similar things, plus our computer numbers would've been stronger.

I think the win over Georgia would have put Alabama in anyway.
Ohio St. had all sorts of problems in the computer polls - Sagarin had them #8, Billingsly #5. Bama was #2 in both. Unless OSU had every #2 vote I am not sure they could have gotten in.
Being #5 in a computer poll is the same as being #5 in a human poll. Hard to get to #1 or #2 with a bunch of #5s out there.
Bama has spent some serious time on bowl probation in the last 20 years. I hereby find all those titles earned by other schools tainted!
