It won't take much once you deal with them. The whole state is a fricking cesspool. Either way, welcome.

It's actually about 20 miles shorter of a route back to my base in OK for me to drive through Kansas.
Nope, I'll fricking drive down the Oklahoma turnpike and pay the tolls, thank you very much!

The only time I have been over Kansas was in a plane.
From the 30,000 foot view, I'd like to keep it that way.

I still remember the days when Norm Stewart would have the team stay in Kansas City, Missouri on the night before games at kU and have the buses fill up in KCMO before driving over the state line in to Lawrence, kansas for basketball games.
He didn't want to contribute a dollar to the kansas economy. For good reason.
He is a good man, and was a great coach.

Don't you know why God made those Flyover States?

I flew into Wichita and drove down I-35 to Stillwater for the UGA/OSU game in 09. I've posted the pics here before. That drive was the most awful, boring, dull drive I've ever experienced. Kansas was an absolute dump.

It really is a great thing. There are very few college rivalries that come from an actual war.
To be honest, I'm not sure exactly who I should be mad at in the whole situation, but the bastards from kansas burned down one of our Missouri towns and we went ahead and burned the shite out of Lawrence, kansas.
Of that I am proud.

Only one that comes close is Michigan/ohio state (frick the bucks)
I've long held that the most bitter rivalry in American sports is the Border War--kinda cool for me personally to finally get to see it up close and personal now.

It's really weird with the whole KC metro area. Mizzou territory, but with a lot of redlegs crossing over for their jobs.
It's a fun thing that has all the history leading into other types of hate, a lot of intermingling of the fanbases leads to a lot of garbage.
I'm sorry you'll be experiencing it while the redlegs are crying in their corner over us going to the SEC. It was once great and could be again if they stop with the butthurt.

SO happy to be out of that POS league.
