They scored 9 points after the first quarter. Like I said, it was unnecessary

But they dropped 20 on you the first half. Fast scoring which had UA playing catchup all game. Passing the ball was the right call to make for much of the game. Kept time on the clock for you to make the last drive of the game. It was a loss, they suck but it happens.

this was true. Either way all of this don't matter. Bama is the one playing for the title.

But they wouldn't be if A&M had Alabama's schedule. Keep that in mind when next year the scheduling committee wen after LSU and gave A&M an Alabama-esque draw.

This. Think about the long TD pass to Cooper in the fourth quarter, and the 50+ yarder to Kenny Bell that set up first and goal. Only reason those passes were open were because A&M was expecting Bama to run and were licking their chops defensively. Bama used that agressiveness against A&M and it nearly paid off.

Ironically, one of the better runs on the night was the one Yeldon got stripped on. That set up A&M's 2 pass, game clinching drive. If that Bama drive pans out, that changes the entire tenor of the 4th quarter, IMO.

Me too. Rematches are tough.

It was 20-14 at the half. 20-17 after the 3rd. So, I still believe my argument is valid. The pass happy 4th quarter was unnecessary

That "pass happy" 4th quarter was completely necessary. It got y'all back into the game because A&M would have been just fine letting y'all waste time grinding it out.

With Lacy running at will and at the same time keeping the ball out of Manziel's hands? Yeah your probably right.

I am right. Lacy was not "running at will." A&M's speed was limiting the sweeps around the ends and like I said, Nealy was giving Jones all he could handle in the middle. Bama was having little luck in the short yardage game, and after the Yeldon fumble, there was no time to frick around with the run game anymore.

I already conceded that had Yeldon not fumbled, the tenor of the late 4th quarter would be much different. But he did, and that cost Bama a drive and precious time. Not saying y'all don't have a great run game, but it's all about situations toward the end of the game, and Bama's chances to win were greater throwing the ball than running it the way the game was progressing.

A&M is the best team in the SEC right now and it's not even close. Johnny Football is unstoppable right now and their defense came together.

Exactly. Even though this is true, it doesn't take anything away from Bama's SECC season and potential national title. It's not about who the best team is at the end of the season, it's about who earned their way to the top throughout the entire season. A&M is playing the best, but Bama is SEC champs and more deserving of a national title shot.

Lacy was averaging 5.8 ypc. That's running at will. And it's not like he had 1 or 2 big runs that pumped up that average. The longest run he had was 18 yards. And limiting the sweeps is irrelevant. They don't make their yardage outside on anybody. Inside the tackles is where they were having success.

And, yes, after the fumble, they needed a little more urgency. But, they were passing too much before that. Then the three passes when they had 1st and goal from the 6 put the icing on the cake.

What are we even arguing about anymore?

We are arguing over whether Bama's passing in the 4th quarter was unnecessary.

Yes, Lacy was averaging 5.8 ypc, but not in short yardage situations. And A&M had adjusted by the 4th quarter and late in that quarter there was no getting up the middle for all intents and purposes.

Should Bama have run more to start the 4th? Maybe, maybe not. Remember A&M was one missed fg from going being up 26-14. Simply put, Bama didn't have time to run their normal offense, nor could they assume that they could contain JFF even if they did run like they normally did.

My point is--Saban called a GREAT 2nd half. I think the passing was necessary and put A&M's D on their heels just enough to give y'all a chance to get back in the game. And the 4th down play that was intercepted was a perfect call--A&M's D got lucky in that they'd been practicing specifically against that look for the past few weeks (the DB that made the interception auto corrected himself, basically gambling and cheating into position). If A&M runs the D that was originally called, Bama wins.

Idk what we're arguing about either Just giving my opinion. Best of luck to y'all on Monday!

Eh? It's a game based on rankings. It isn't a playoff.

They almost lost to LaTech. No way aTm would have it figured out in time to beat Michigan. It would have made you look very bad playing a quality team like that so early. Hell, the Tech game getting canceled may have very well saved your entire season.
