Spurrier is just butt hurt because his wife

forced him to turn down the Bama job when they offered it to him that November Thanksgiving week. She gave him an ultimatum and he decided much like Saban when momma's not happy then no one is.
Spurrier sees what he could have had and it's been grinding on him for a long time.
He has done a good job at USCe and we all look at what could have been but most of us just don't walk around butt hurt over it.

Spurrier has made some comments about it being much easier to get talent to Tuscaloosa.

That is the point. He sees what Saban has done and has some regret. Spurrier can't keep that to himself but has to mouth off. Must be some kind of release to keep him from going postal.

Easy to get talent in Tuscaloosa? 70% of our players are from out of state. 10% of UTexas players are from out of state.
It's easy to get Talent in Florida, Spurrier. Remember that? And Texas and California.
You don't see any of them rolling around in championships. I like Spurrier but he can GFH.

you got to admit he walked into a USC program that was almost sub Vandy. Now he has a team that a lot of folk worry about when they see them on the schedule. I dont know if he would have had more or less success than Saban has but you never know. I know there would at least be a cpl of them round shiny things in his cabinet.
oh and I hate em lol

But I think it is harder to take a good team and make them the best than take on ok team and make them good. Almost no margin for error when you are the best except........just kidding. Seriously, I have always felt making a team the very best is the harder task even if it is a better situation.

What are you Bama fans bitching about now? Three days before the National Championship game?

Earlier this year Steve Spurrier made headlines when he said this about Nick Saban “He’s got a nice little gig going, a little bit like (John) Calipari. He tells guys, ‘Hey, three years from now, you’re going to be a first-round pick and go.’ If he wants to be the greatest coach or one of the greatest coaches in college football, to me, he has to go somewhere besides Alabama and win, because they’ve always won there at Alabama.” It took four months, but Saban responded back to Spurrier yesterday stating “LSU wasn’t winning when I went there. Michigan State wasn’t winning when I went there. Toledo wasn’t winning when I went there. And Alabama really wasn’t winning when I came here. I guess I gotta go someplace else. I don’t know".

Bama fans clearly need something to bitch about to be truly happy.

Oh how the bama '10 butthurt continues....
Spurrier may have said it's easier to get talent at tradition rich schools like bama...but that's b/c it's true. Look at other examples like Michigan, SoCal, Florida State, etc.... They aren't elite this year and haven't been for several years, but they still recruit "well."
Spurrier has done a good job at USC, he did a great job at Florida and I think what your really trying to reference is his comment from last year about measuring a coach going somewhere and doing things that hadn't been done before...like he did at UF and USC.

Spurrier is one of the best trolls ever as a coach. Looks like people are still falling for his schtick.

College football would be a more boring place without Spurrier.

If Spurrier was at Florida or LSU or another elite SEC school then Saban wouldn't be enjoying the run he's having now.
