No maybe to it. That $5 million could do a lot for my Grandmother who is on a fixed income and my Parents who are getting ready to retire modestly.

Would I give up alcohol for that for a lifetime? Absolutely.

Caffeine is addictive brah.

Just kidding, she has medical reasons she's mentioned before as the reason she had to give up a lot of stuff.

I used to (and still, most of the time) watch everyone be dumb and drunk and am just fine. Usually it's just funny to me, but then again I am easily amused to begin with

It's not that bad

It's ok, but I much prefer being the drunk one people are laughing at. So much more fun.

I have colitis. Coffee, even decaf, has caffeine which I can't have.

I guess I'm just lucky.

I mean I understand some people would take it in a heartbeat and I understand why.

I just don't need it and to be honest don't want the hassle that comes with that much money

And FWIW, giving up red meat and coffee has been harder for me then giving up alcohol at this point.

I am a freak. I have never had a difficult time giving up anything that a normal person would have been hopelessly addicted to. I used to smoke a pack and a half of cigarettes a day and went cold turkey with no problems. I used to be a flat out stoner, and quit smoking weed with no problems at all. I gave up caffeine with no problems at all. I have all but given up soda with no problems.

It's alright. It beats the alternative. And I've been able to add some foods back in. There are worse things.

Preach, Belle!

Was just allowing myself to daydream--that dough could pay off my student debt, allow me to put up Mrs. Tbird in a nicer house, and let me send $$ back home to my folks who've retired very modestly and still have 6 kids at home and 2 in college.

I smoked Marlboro reds for like a month. Just threw them away one day and haven't wanted another since

I can quite nicotine, caffeine, and soft drinks easily. I go without those things all the time. Alcohol is a little different. No doubt it's my biggest weakness. Not saying I couldn't quit if I needed to, but it would take considerably more self control than quitting anything else.

IDK if I can give up nicotine, last time I tried it just seemed like I was ready to explode on anyone who tried to irritate me.

To not drink I have to stay busy at night with something productive. I'm good if I'm working or studying, no cravings at all. But if I'm sitting around without anything to do I will start drinking every single time. It's not like I get hammered every night, but if I'm not doing anything I like to drink. It makes boredom so much more fun.
