There should be some kind of punishment for such a travesty of a schedule.

Look at the last 7 SEC Champions. All of them at least made an effort to play at least one challenging game out of conference. It probably goes farther back than the last 7, but that is as far back as I can remember on the top of my head.

Can't remember the last SEC champ who won the league by turtling up in non conference and only playing cupcakes at home. I think playing a weak non conference schedule(like Mississippi State did this year) softens you up for SEC play.

A&M should take a page from teams like Alabama or LSU who actually try to schedule a challenging conference game each year.

Said this in another thread, but A&M's schedule next season is almost exactly like UGA's schedule this season.

Dont matter. They wont beat LSU or Alabama without their star Offensive Coordinator and their star D-Lineman. They couldn't even beat LSU with those two guys.... at home

Our OOC games for 2013:

Rice, Southern Methodist- Both programs won their respective bowl games this year. They are also our old SWC rivals. Nothing wrong with scheduling your old rivals, right?

Texas-El Paso- life on the border is rough. They are mentally tough from living so close to Juarez and witnessing death as a daily occurrence.

Sam Houston State- in the FCS semis as we speak. They are also our neighbors, and we Aggies like to be good neighbors.

Seems legit.

Our non-conference schedule is atrocious next year. We really need to try harder to schedule some actual teams.

I was scared of USC but 2015 is when they'll be down to a skeleton crew of schollies.
