Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Poems by fr33,
are worse than watching glee

bullshite. People don't understand what "love" is. We've corrupted it so much.

I don't think you can necessarily make yourself love someone. I can agree with NAT on that much.

I don't disagree that a lot of people don't understand what love is. But it all depends on what you think is love to begin with. I don't see the new warm and fuzzies as love myself. I see the bond that you form after the fact as love.

But I don't think you can force that bond.

Fr33 reminds me of Gus from Lonesome Dove in certain situations. He has the tendency to be over-philosophical when it's not always called for.

But Eros is not always sexual in nature. So I don't know that you can necessarily peg it as specifically lust. If I remember correctly Plato even goes so far as to say that Eros (I'm paraphrasing here) an understanding of spiritual truth. That you can seek truth via Eros.

Ahh, now here is an interesting concept. I do think that there is much to be said for lust, Eros, what have you. It gets us high. So high we will do anything to maintain it. It is bliss, it is euphoria. It is designed to make us bump uglies. And there is the release of the spirit in that. All facets of the mystery of what it is to be human.

I think you're thinking Storge when it comes to parental affection for a child. Agape is a little different IMO.

Perhaps. It's been a while since I've refreshed my Greek.

Well seeing as how codeine is one of God's gifts to man, I can understand her side of the song.

The question is though can you truly obtain spiritual truth/enlightenment through just Eros or does that come later through Agape?

I'd rather cast my lot in with a mandolin.

Even though I still plan on picking up a guitar sooner rather than later.

How about a bawdy rhyme instead?
This cerebral crap is tedious.

Some folks are quite often lovestruck,
While still others seem to have no luck,
But the truth of the matter,
Despite all of the natter,
Is that we're simply programmed to f.uck.

Love is caring about someone enough to hope they are well and happy no matter what... mutual love is when you both feel the same way towards each other...

What's hard to find is love where when what will make both of you happy is too be with the other.

It's vary rare IMO. unless one side or the other settles because they don't want to be alone or are infatuated.

This would be awesome. I can play a little guitar but I have always wanted to learn mandolin. One of the prettiest sounding instruments out there IMO.
