Don't you have to win some of these games? Arky doesn't play very consistant ball every game will be a shoot out because you can't defend and you shoot too quickly.. but that's how MA does it... Am I missing something?

You've got the idea but the team has shown it can play good defense. We've gotten better on the shot selection so far this year, yet to be determined if we continue in SEC play. My biggest focus will be consistency and improvement in half court defense which we showed against Michigan and somewhat with Oklahoma.

Mike will want quick shots when we're running, but when we go half-court we have to find good shots because we're Lindsay Lohan coke addiction thin inside. Which means we HAVE to be disciplined in half-court defense if we have any shot in SEC play.

A solid win at a sold out VCU should be a good turnaround.

Won't happen if we keep playing stall ball with 4 guards and 1 forward on the court. Grant has to loosen up the offense if he ever wants to see this team grow. I don't expect it to happen anymore, and have resigned myself to watching Big 10 basketball until he is fired though.

I knew we would struggle this year and said before it started the NIT would be a great year. Boy I didn't realize how bad we'd be. I got my hopes up a little bit after 2 close losses to Indiana and UCLA, but then we just started sucking even more. Gonna be a long year. I wonder how much time Fox has left. I'm not sure he'll get fired after this year, but if he doesn't next year will be win or be fired for him.

[UT] Hasn't scored over 40 in two straight games... should be lower but thats[SP] how bad everyone else is.

Arkansas PPG 17th overall while playing #6 Syracuse and @ #3 Michigan

Tennessee PPG 288th overall

Basketball isn't ranked like football. You're not looking at SOS or anything.

If this A&M team - with this coaching staff - finishes in the Top Half of the conference this year the SEC should drop basketball.

Just so I'm not Monday Morning Quarterbacking without tossing my own rankings, here you go. Too early to give number ranks but I can do categories.

We know the're good
Florida, Mizzou

We know they'll get better
UK

We don't really know anything yet
Ole Miss, A&M, Bama, LSU, USCe

We know they're not good but not bad
Ark, Tenner, Vandy

We know they're bad
Auburn, UGA, MSU

I'm not really sure about this. I'd put them in the "we don't really know anything yet" category for now. Inconsistent outside shooting, just plain awful from the charity stripe, a couple of project bigs that could develop in the next 2 months or the next 2 years, and no upperclassman leadership. They could get better, but they could also be a team that plays far below its talent level all season for the reasons above.

The rest I agree with.

Homer BamaStepL overranks Bama again. What's new?

There are a lot of good Bama posters here but StepL is shite. Can't look through anything but broken Crimson glasses.

In all honesty, I think the answer would be no if BD retired at the end of this year.

He's been a bit of a disappointment.

Coaching wise I wasn't expecting him to be the greatest thing in the world. But he was supposedly the man behind the great recruiting classes at Florida so I was pumped that we would be reeling in class after class of great talent. That hasn't been the case at all.

VCU is a good team - gave us a real game in Atlantis. Good luck there!

Well, I think he helped recruiting but BD has survived many coaching changes and recruiting for the most part keeps on ticking.

AG is still waaaay young. There's still hope IMO.

What's Wimp Sanderson doing these days?

I said this the other day, but on defense you can definitely see the Pitino/Billy D influence. On offense, it's as if Grant fell asleep during the coaches meetings. No similarities whatsoever.

Needs better players. It can't be easy to recruit to Bama for basketball. It's not easy at UF.
