He needs to recruit better. It's his job to do that. I'm sure the people with their heads in the clouds continue to blame Gottfried but this team is all on Grant. The lack of depth is his fault. The lack of offense is on him as well. He's gotta do better in every area.

I can see that. I feel like he deserves another year. Pollard is a project and we have a couple more athletic bigs coming in next year. I just feel like passing the ball around the arc for 20-25 seconds before someone shoots a 3 or drives to the basket is extremely inefficient when you are playing with 4 guards more often than not.

I'm surprised he's not playing the offense quicker with a 4 guard set.

Why they hell are you guys running a four guard set anyway? Injuries? Suspensions?

Because he failed recruiting.

Injuries?

That hasn't helped either.

I'm thinking you're a dumb arse if you think AG is a dissappointment... he's had a NIT final run followed by a NCAA tourney bid(1st in 6 seasons for Bama ) a top 5 recruiting class (Lacey's class) followed by pulling in a 5* recruit (only player signed). Consistantly has had the top D in the league and one of the top 10 in the country.

Won a preseason tourney and lost to a top10 Cincy on the road by a last second shot. lost at home in the worst game we've played in 3 seasons effort wise.. after losing our *gulp* best post player.

I have no idea what Bama Bball fans expect.. hell i don't even know if they know WHAT to expect. There has been marked improvement every season... I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but if you think AG is a dissappointment then it's a dumb arse opinion.

He is a good recruiter, but he seems to invest a disproportionate amount of resources on 5 star kids that we have a 1 in 100 shot at. It didn't help that when Barber decided to thug it up on his Louisville visit it completely fricked this class, because we hadn't gone hard after any other PGs, Johnson is apparently a frontrunner, and Williamson was only happening if we got Barber.

Can we really say that with 100% certainty? He's had one good class and we lucked into Pollard because Stansbury finally got pushed out. The kid was 100% heading to MSU. I agree though, we spend way too much time recruiting kids from 15 states away that we have a 1% shot of landing. Sure it's cool making their top 5 and getting official visits, but finishing 2nd or 3rd for their signature does nothing for the program.

We have 3 scholarship players taller than 6'7" right now. 2 of them are athletic and have the basketball skills of a 15 year old girl, and the other can score some points, but is woefully unathletic.

That used car salesman in Lexington fricked us over too. Cauley Stein was probably ours until Cal watched his football tape, started recruiting him like a month before his OV, and offered him a scholarship on his only visit to Lexington.

Not last.

ETA: We would be at least 4-3 if Denson wasn't ineligible(tonight is his 1st game). He isn't a great player by any stretch of the imagination but he can score and that is a pretty big thing for an offensively challenged team like Auburn.

you're really dumb... If I recall the entire Bama BBall nation was just too giddy that highly rated kids from other states even gave us as close a look as they were..

Grant is goin after the best and is not afraid to take a chance on recruiting better players from out of state when Bama is down in state (which will be often).

If grant wasn't goin after the big dawgs i'm sure you'd be complaining about that too huh?

It will eventually payoff as he continues to move Bama forward... in my opinion the worst thing about Bama's BBall program is it's fans..

I think he is. Players love him. Our program is the problem, and what generally causes us to come in 2nd to a basketball school for all of these kids. People don't go to games, the administration doesn't go out of its way to support the program, and people just generally don't appreciate the basketball program that much. It's frustrating. Ohio State and Florida are both football schools and get 1000x better support for basketball than we do. I guarantee you if we were getting sell outs and these kids felt like they would be the big man on campus, we'd stop finishing 2nd all the time.

Lucked into Lacey too. If our compliance doesn't ban Komara's son from walking on at Auburn Lacey isn't playing for Grant.

Oh for fricks sake. Who gives a shite if you have 4 or 5 5 stars on your roster if the other 8 are a bunch of fricking walk ons? That is where we are headed if Grant doesn't stop missing on so many kids and failing to fill those scholarship slots. You need good players, but you also need a little depth.

Do you really think this is at ALL likely..? lol there is zero validity in your statement.

CMG would have 13 cholarship guys and only play 7 or 8..

Bama has 10 scholarship players and plays all 10.. that's plenty of depth.

to his credit CMG went to an elite 8 with 8 scholarship players..

Not defending Tennessee's offensive play because it is very, very bad, but they do play defense very well. Probably good enough to be in the top 5 in the leage overall once everything pans out.

Shut the frick up. If I want a homer opinion, I'll ask for it. Until then, the rest of us will laugh at your blatant homerism and stupidity.
