There will never be North/South Divisions in the SEC ...

... because no one in the South wants to be called "north" anything. It would be sacrilege, agreed? Fawk the north.
Instead, let's just do it right.
Let's either adopt NC State and Va Tech and add them to the Eastern Division while moving Mizzou to the West, or ...
Let's put Auburn in the East and Mizzou in the West and just have two permanent opponents each year during a nine conference game schedule. Bama can have Auburn and Tennessee that way - easy solution. What's the problem?

I doubt if any of the athletes care about shite like that.
ETA: I've never heard a SEC football or basketball player talk about southern pride, yankees, etc.

I thought the common belief was that 16 brought 4 team pods. Southeast, Southwest, Not So South East and Not So South West.
Cycle through the divisions every 3 years, plus a perm rival. Or go NFL and play the like placed teams from each division plus your own plus a few perms.

Serious question. If UNC joins the SEC, which rivalry will be more intense, Arkansas/Mizzou or the Carolina Cat Fight?
