Too Early Thoughts On Bragging Rights Game

I haven't watched much of Illinois this year but did watch the game against Gonzaga. Personally, I thought it was an ugly game on both sides. Both teams would go 6 trips down the court without working the ball inside even once. Gonzaga was behind so I can understand that. Illinois just seemed to jack up 3's left and right. If we play solid perimeter defense and/or they have an off night shooting, we should win the game relatively easily. If they're hot from 3, could be a long night. Their interior game doesn't concern me though.
For those that have watched them more, am I off on that? Just seemed like there was nothing to their offense but jack it up. Enlighten me.

I expect to see a bit of on-ball pressure from them which will likely give us fits (unless our guys have suddenly learned how to handled the ball).
But we will out-rebound them. As long as we can stay in some sort of man defense, I think we'll be fine. Phil and NWC stay out of foul trouble, Jabari gives us 10-15 minutes with some production, we should be fine.

Just wondering. How much of a rival do yall see Illinois as? I have always wondered where there place fit into across our fanbase. For me my list went:
kansas
Nubs
Ill-annoy

Well,moving forward we can scratch ku and the nubs as rivals. I'd put the piggies as the team I'd most like to see Mizzou crush. Then Illinois and UK.

Liked it more when we played them in fb every year.. I'm from Illinois so I get sick of the U of i kids, if we beat them this year I will like the rivalry a little more.

In the day it probably was kU, Nebraska and Illinois. Don't see it that way anymore. Illinois probably means more for the fans from the St. Louis or eastern side.

The bragging rights game is one of the best atmospheres in all of college sports. There are not many events like it.
It is better than ku basketball games in its own ways.
Illini isn't a "hate" rival, but the game should be #1 on any Mizzou fans to-do list. It is better than most bowl games despite being basketball.

I have never cared about this game any more than others. I have only ever cared about ku as a rival. Beating texas also always made me happy.
I hope I can come to appreciate arkansas as a rival. But truly I hope we play ku again soon. I love hating those guys and I probably always will.
