substitute another team for Georgia, who belongs with Florida....
another division, LSU, TAM, Ole Miss and MSU....
The thinking at the SEC office is that the world would end if Georgia and Auburn and Alabama and Tennessee don't play every year which is why I put them together. Right now the rest of the SEC teams have to jump through a hoop to satisfy those sacred rivalries.
That scheme keeps Ole Miss and MSU, together.
Other rivalries will form. Right now I can get more excited about playing aTM than Ole Miss.
More conference games and fewer rent-a-wins mean bigger crowds.

And CU and FSU fit in the SEC much better than VT and NCSU, Mizzou, but it's all about geography.
Nope. Its all about TV sets and CU and FSU dont bring enough to the party....

Bama's division will include Vandy and Kentucky. LSU's division will include A&M and Auburn. Bet the farm on it.

They can't block it on their own. They need to get 2 other schools to vote against it.
UGA, USCe, and UF all have an agreement to block FSU, Ga Tech, and Clemson from ever joining the SEC

SEC will not add another team from SC. Small state and Clemson doesnt have much of a national following to draw ratings. Expansion is about TV markets. The SEC would want to add FSU, UNC, NCSU, UVA, or VT. FL is a huge with 4 times the population of SC. NC and VA allow the SEC to get into new states. GT doesnt really add much TV wise with UGA in the SEC

i think north carolina is number 1 choice for the sec. but nothing will happen if maryland cant get out of having to pay the 50 million dollar buyout.

I'm hearing from the AD that La Tech has called CUSA and told them they won't be joining next year due to deserving to be in the SEC and a phone call from who sounded like a kid but claimed to be a SEC official

Adding more teams will break the sec and dilute what has become the most dominating match ups.Anyone who thinks breaking the sec into 4 divisions will be a good thing is smoking the wrong shite. Who the hell wants to play vt or nc state.Stupid shite.... Sec needs to focus on maintating their dominace not diluting it.

VT and NCST could field good teams within 3 years. I like the VT add and I understand the NCST add even though I don't like it.

We need to pursue all of our options including leaving the SEC for the big 12 and do what is in our (LSUs) best interest. frick bama and their home cooking refs and schedule makers. frick them and let's look around for greener fields. Would it not be nice to only have to play those pricks once a decade with fair refs. If we don't consider leaving we will be forced to be their lapdogs and I think we are all tired of that. If we left Florida would geaux too. They have been thinking about it for years. If we all left for big 12 together with Florida state we would be better off

The SEC could expand to 60 teams and I bet the 3rd Saturday in Oct stays in tact

I do not want more expansion, I want the SEC to be an as exclusive group as possible. but wind ain't b;owing that way

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Switch Missouri for Ole Miss and then you have balance with the following added benefits:
1) LSU keeps Ole Miss on the schedule every year - Ole Miss is probably the closest thing to a traditional rivalry we have left
2) Ole Miss balances the divisions in a couple ways:
2A) The four weakest teams in the SEC are Vandy, KY, Ole Miss, and MSU. They need to be in four different divisions for competitive balance reasons (the same reason the Big 6 should be spread into different divisions)
2B) The traditional SEC teams need to be spread into different divisions so every division still resembles the SEC. What you have in the A&M, Arky, MO, LSU division is more like the Big 12 or SWC than the SEC

Each team's perm opponent is in parentheses. Every 4 team subdivision plays all teams within and another full subdivision. That way we play UGA every 3 years, and at Athens every 6. That way every subdivision plays 7 common opponents. Winner of each division is decided by the 7 common opponents. So we don't have to worry about our LSU v. UF game costing us a shot at the SECCG while A&M Plays Mizzou.

That's similar to what I posted in the scheduling thread, but the permanent opponent piee has two flaws. First, on years where you're paired with the division of your permanent oponent, what do you do? Second, having a single "permanent opponent" defeats the puprpose of pairing divisions, which is that every team in the division pair plays the same schedule to get to the SECG.
