All signs point to Northern Illinois playing in the Orange Bowl, and knocking Oklahoma out of the BCS.
Billy Liucci, TexAgs chief, who seemed to be previously indicating that no Big 12 would play us in Cotton, seems to be changing his tune on Twitter.
Chuck Carlton with the Dallas Morning News is reporting OU vs. A&M to be likely:
Brent Zwerneman with the San Antonio paper reports the same...
The blood fued appears to have worked. Whoop! Very excited to take a dump on the Big 12.

@billyliucci So bizarre to see the bowl fate of both Texas A&M and Oklahoma hanging on what happens to Northern Illinois. Kind of entertaining, too.

@ChuckCarltonDMN Based on @SIPeteThamel NIU report, that means Oklahoma drops to Cotton Bowl and very likely will play Texas A&M in marquee matchup.
Brent Zwerneman with the San Antonio paper reports the same...

@BrentZwerneman So, simply: If NIU makes BCS top 16 & takes OU's BCS spot, OU likely to Cotton vs. Ags, according to insider. If UT in Cotton, no Ags.

With 5 weeks to prepare, I think the Oklahoma defense has a shot here.
Also their offense will be similar to Louisiana Tech's. Not as fast paced, but just as capable through the air and on the ground.

So LSU to the Capital one against a Big 12 team? Or Peach Bowl against a terrible Clemson team. Should be interesting. Not.

I had a text message about this a few hours ago from a friend. Didn't think there was any truth to it. Been looking at flights to Atlanta this afternoon.
That would be pretty cool.

Fortunately for most LSU fans our meltdown happened when we dropped our second game of the season and we were out of the national title race. Now I can see where ATM would be pumped about the Cotton Bowl and everything. But most of us really don't give a shite whether it's the Cotton or Chicken sandwich bowl. We have higher expectations than that anyway and they were over on November 3rd...so

You think LSU fans will melt down? No, they just won't show up.

All the Texas fans are screaming for this.

What happens if y'all lose to OU?

I've never understood the love of Billy Liucci. Last fall, someone posted one of his premium stories on the conference expansion board. It was nothing but a summary of a KC Star sports writer's tweets... referencing the writer as his "inside source."

How does it feel LSU? How does it feel to be passed over by the conference newbie. Suck it bitches! Hate LSU always will!

Why do you think we give a shite about the Cooter bowl! Just wondering where this insight comes from? Here at LSU, if we aren't playing in the BCSNC it is a failure, so I could give a shite less where we play as long as it is good competition
