That was actually some of the best 1 minute offense I've seen. They had zero timeouts and got 8 plays off in 1:08. That's very impressive. There wasn't a single play (until the very last one) where the runner was tackled inbounds behind the line of scrimmage (you almost always see teams screw up and do that in 1 minute offense). They kept getting first downs and getting out of bounds. It was scary

I honestly think LSU fans are jumping all over Richt because they want to make this seem worse than some of Miles' clock blunders.

It's not because of Richt's clock management that Moseley tipped the passed. It's not because of Richt's clock management that the receiver caught it instead of batting it down.

They lost at the end because of those two things, not because of the head coach's bonehead clock management.

The decision to keep going while you're hot and not clock it didn't pan out, but if the exact same play had happened after a spike, it would've been the same result. So don't put it on Richt.

His team's clock management was far better than most you see in that situation, easily.

Bottom line is Bama made a game winning play by tipping the pass. Give credit where due

absolutely right on this one. UGA had Bama on the ropes and tried to make one final play while Bama was unorganized. It didn't work out. shite happens.

You are looking to catch your opponent off guard, not your own team. Keep trying.

Completely agree. The play was probably meant to be an incomplete or TD fade but the tip led to a really stupid decision to catch the ball short of the goal line.

Hadn't thought about it that way, just though it a bad decision. Could well be right Genro.

that the receiver caught it instead of batting it down.

That might be asking a little much of a WR in that situation

that Moseley tipped the passed.

I'm wondering if Murray was actually going for the other receiver, that was running a route to the end zone.

I don't think LSU is even capable of getting into the same position UGA did for a game winning score.

You're right, a coach should be thinking, "if i keep going here and throw it in the endzone, then their linebacker may tip it and our tight end in the flats may instinctively catch it while falling thus ending the game."

because that happens all the time and is totally logical.

Yes. Richt even said so. It was a designed fade to the other receiver in the end zone and the TE in the flats was only a decoy to draw another defender. Murray was throwing it to the endzone and the ball just happened to tip off Mosely perfectly to the TE.

Not this year. CLM should take that clip, or the AJ clip from LSU game, to see how it's done.

it was a good plan, just got messed up by a good defensive play and a WR who acted on instinct. Really can't blame the coaching staff for that one

Yes. Richt even said so.

Missed that. Well, like you said, some times it works out and sometimes it don't.

I believe they should have clocked it rather than hurrying up and running a play but I think they believed they had Bama on the ropes and didn't want to let them catch a breath.

Either was it was the tip by Mosely (I'm pretty sure it was him) that won the game.

no pass rush all day. One sack to the otherwise. That tip was huge. And it's understated by everyone. +1 to you

You think Richt regrets not taking the time to remind his players of potential events that could prevent his team from killing off the clock? Instead, he rushes his team, only to have his own player make a poor decision while in panic mode.

Great coaching

Better than having your team play like shite and commit six turnovers in their biggest game of the year. Now that's bad coaching. Awful, actually.

Yeah. If I had all the momentum against a reeling opponent, I'd give the opponent a chance to compose themselves.

but I do get your point. It was a double edged sword.
