How could any LSU fan not like Les Miles contract extension?

I heard a couple of my LSU buddies talk about how upset they are with the extension. Really? Hes one of the best coaches in the nation. A great recruiter, a great coach, and the guys hilarious. 85-20 isnt bad for any coach that has been in the conference for 8 years. And a national championship too add with it.

He had no intention of leaving for Arkansas and I find it hard to believe that Arkansas actually thought they had a chance at getting him. LSU should have called the bluff.

I'm ecstatic over his extension and pay raise. He deserves it.
He is being paid a market rate based on his success in his profession which is what we all want for ourselves.

when LSU fans can't complain about winning enough games, they will complain about how the offense sucks. If the offense steps it up a notch, they complain how the defense sucks. If we don't win the SEC every year, they want to replace the coaches. Most LSU fans are happy with the coach, and believe he's doing a pretty good job. Haters are just louder.

Not all of us are upset. I don't think Les is a "perfect" coach. But I enjoy the product he is able to provide on the field. I like to see LSU win.
I have no fear that he is going to shite the bed like Chizit, run off the road like Petrino, or run off in the middle of the night like Kiffin.
I'm quite content with LSU keeping Miles happy.

Because there are too many LSU "t-shirt" fans today that are unaware of recent history (the lost decade of LSU football with Archer/Dinardo) or that somehow LSU is now immune to the mess that faces Auburn, Arkansas and Tennessee today.

you really don't know some of our fanbase man. and frankly, i don't think you want to. we have a segment that demands 14-0 every year and each victory must be by double digits and we must score every possession and never allow the opposition to make a first down. you want an example? i could give you a 100 but a guy posted just yesterday that we should let miles go to arky because we need a coach dthat is a better public speaker. fortunatly, the majority of the LSU fan base isn't like that.

I just don't think I'll ever be convinced that Miles is a great coach. Good, sure. But he's made too many wacko calls, played down to too many bad opponents, and won too many games on pure luck to be considered one of the best.

We have some idiot fans who've done nothing in their lives but expect the moon from everybody else. I wish we could fire the fanbase, honestly.
