Dude, he ain't leavin' and neither is John Football.

I know they arent leaving. I want to know if they think he and his offense will lead them to a title or if they can put down the koolaid and realize that gimmick offenses dont work forever. They will have to find a guy like JFF every 3-4 years for this to work. See Auburn.

Matt Davis will replace him for a year, then Kenny Hill, etc. Texas High school QBs are a great pipe line. Don't you worry about us.

As long as Brick is the QB, that offense will work. And who knows, Sumlin might find another one.

Not really. The offense operates differently but just as efficiently without a runner at QB. There are a lot of QBs with better arms than Manziel, so it's not like he's the pinnacle of a spread QB from every aspect.

What's gimmick about it? Because we dont huddle and dont decide to do like Les and run right at a defense like Alabama???

Question, since you're LSU team scored a total of ZERO touchdowns against Alabama in TWO games last year, what makes you think you're ground and pound style is more effective? Hell, the only reason you had success this year on Bama was when you're passing game started clicking.

We lead the SEC in rushing. We actually rush the ball just about as often as we pass. As a matter of fact, we had more rush yds against Bama than they did.

To answer your question- do we think we can win relying only on offense??? NO.

We are thin on defense due to the last staff and because we changed from the 3-4 to the 4-3 this season. The majority of our 2013 recruiting class are defensive guys because we want to play better defense.

Sumlin has a good chance of going 10-2 in his first season as HC with an offensive and defensive personnel that was recruited for a different scheme/system. He's recruiting VERY well this year and (top 10 class) and we'll probably have another top 10 class next year with the way things are shaking out.

He's a good coach and we're in position to get Elite recruits. That seems like a decent combination to me, for sustaining success. What am I missing?
