Late Wednesday night, reports surfaced that the nation's No. 1 recruit, Robert Nkemdiche, had decommitted from Clemson and possibly was on the verge of committing to Ole Miss.
Then a report from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution said that the Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) star denied the rumors, saying via text message, "Nothing final yet" and later, "Yes (still committed to Clemson). Just undecided."
Now, Grayson head coach Mickey Conn is confirming that his star defensive end is, in fact, no longer committed to Clemson.
"Yes, he has decommitted," Conn told MaxPreps in an email this morning.
While Ole Miss seems like a likely destination for Nkemdiche, there will be a number of suitors for the 6-foot-5, 270-pound defensive end, including Alabama, which was once thought to be the favorite to land him.
The media deluge surrounding Nkemdiche comes at a critical time for Grayson, which seeks to repeat as a state champion. It faces rival Brookwood in its regular season finale Friday night.

He's been to Ole Miss a bunch this fall (yes, partly to watch his brother play) and I can't remember the last time he's visited T-town. I'm sure we'll give it our best shot, I just don't see a lot of interest on his part.

Seems to be Ole Miss's to lose. Everyone make a call or write a letter to your REC rep this week.

I don't expect him to sign with Alabama. I would love it, but family will pull him to Ole Miss. Even without it, I think enough negative recruiting sold him on the idea that he would be out of position in our 3-4.

Adams is starting to like the idea of playing in our defense. Granted RN wouldn't play the Dareus role, I think Adams changing his mind could sway RN. Plus now we've got Walker and Henry to recruit him, and if we pull in Tunsil and Adams RN would be crazy to not wanna be a part of that. Maybe we even get Foster back too.
