I kid you not this season has been just amazingly FUN. The teams we play have passion and the tradition is unmatched.
These last two weeks in particular have just been outstanding. Being an Aggie I have heard multiple interviews over the years with both Jackie Sherrill and Gene Stallings, but nothing has been more interesting than hearing these guys talk about the match ups between A&M/MSU and A&M/Bama respectively. Just really great interviews I have heard over the last few weeks and it really highlights how intertwined A&M has been with the SEC throughout our history both on the field with LSU and Arkansas to coaching from Bear, Stallings, Jackie and even Fran.Even our history with opposing coaches in Miles, Chiz and Boom.
Stallings is an amazing speaker and is amazingly knowledgeable about the sport. He gave a good break down of the upcoming game, said that visiting Bama will be a great experience and the fans are great and respectful of opposing fans as you will find, likened it to A&M. He also said that it will be loud but no louder than we are used to at Kyle Field
.
I am pumped about this game, A&M is playing with house money and a ton of confidence. Looking forward to a great game.

Big Boy football
Can't say much about basketball, and even though the SEC football is tops in the land, there is no bigger divide between one conference and the rest of the nation than what you'll see come baseball season.

Pulling for A&M and an IB shocker myself. Gig'em.

Y'all are the most improved team in the conference. Sumlin is doing a great job. I expect a battle saturday. And although you haven't been great recently, I've been saying all along that you guys are about to be one of the super powers in this country. So that means we're gonna have three in our division. I hope we realign or something. Sheesh.

Everything is heightened in the SEC.
There is the SEC and a bunch of "nice little conferences".
That doesn't mean those other conferences don't play good football.
It just means it's not ingrained in the culture in the same way.
And they probably don't play good football.
Texas A& M is a perfect fit because your culture fits in well with LSU/Bama/Georgia/Uf/Tenn etc.
Now prepare your arse...

This is a weak spot for the conference, but we still win NC's.

The biggest difference is that, besides Texas, there was really no attachment with the Big 12.
Baylor ... ok we had a history ... but they are fricking Baylor, even in their best year the couldn;t compete.
Every other school in the Big 12 I have about as much attachment to as I do to Temple ... and about as much interest in watching us play.
With the exception of the Okie schools their stadiums are crap and their towns are shitty (that includes the Okie schools) and A&M has no real significant history with them; it isn't just a step up in competition it is a step up in attachment.
4 of our 6 divisional opponents we have significant cross over with historically, that is double what we had in the Big 12 and that is a stretch given that the average Aggie couldn't care less about our history with Baylor since they have been so irrelevant as to make A&M look like national champion contenders in my lifetime.

Sure but...I'm an LSU fan first and you know the ramifications of what I said I hoped for. Now when reality strikes....then it's all good.

basketball is on the upswing
Kentucky
Tennessee
Arkansas
Mizzou
Florida
will all be solid
Ole Miss and Bama could be good as well I think. Maybe LSU? Haven't gotten into all that yet, but SEC basketball will be much improved this year.

It has been a fun and exciting first season in the SEC. It's like being the new kid in school that just moved. It'll take some time to earn respect, but I feel like our football program has at least started of on the right foot. I think our baseball program will do the same. Basketball..... meh.
