Waiting on the SEC network so we can watch all conference baseball =)

well we stream all home games (though you have to pay this year I guess)

Important to note that this is only the Thursday night games. There will be many more games on the ESPN family of networks throughout the season.
Pissed that they have messed up the baseball side of Super Bulldog Weekend for us yet again by making it a Thurs-Fri-Sat series. This is our Spring homecoming weekend, and thus many more people generally attend the Sunday game than will be able to make it on a Thursday night.

No Vandy? That's messed up.
ETA: We play Bama the Wildcard weekend, so I doubt we get that one either.

I thought it was set up for every team to play a game on Thurs... Vandy will be very good... no reason not to have them on.

We played on tv a ton last year. SEC baseball gets quite a bit of pub these days versus, just ten years ago.

Our matchup against South Carolina should be phenomenal. I don't know how that didn't make the cut.

I love the exposure, but I would be pissed if my planned roadies to Arkansas and Alabama had been affected by this. The other thing I hate about Thursday night baseball, is that I don't know what to do with myself on Sunday.

agree with you but I think this is the future. Imagine we have an SEC network up. Instead of one series a weekend Thu-Sat we will probably have two. We may also see Mon games from those teams playing Thu bc then you can fill doubleheaders on Mon, Tue, a game Thur and maybe 3 on Sat and 2 on Sunday on the SEC Network.
That's a lot of live programming to fill a relatively dead period beginning in March. You can use softball to fill in a lot of the gaps. The good is how much will be aired but it will take creative scheduling to get it there. And honestly if we were still in school we'd love the Thu night national tv games.

Best team in the nation only on once.

quote:Possibly, but I tend to think that Thursday will be kept for the showcase series. It's quite possible that the SEC network will be more than one channel--while the BTN only has one, the Pac 12 has a national channel and six regional. I think the SEC may go with an in-between approach: 2 channels, one labeled West and the other East. That way, you can have two games simultaneously, which will be kind of important at times in football and basketball season.

yeah, that's possible. But whether it's one or two channels, I'll be a touch surprised if we don't move the schedule around some to maximize live content like this. They couldn't even show all 7 series with 2 channels without scheduling conflicts.
It's a lot of air time to fill and baseball in particular could be a huge untapped market if done right. Just hard to see them not trying to take advantage of that in some ways and those ways are likely going to inconvenience the fanbase a bit (no different than the 11am kickoffs for football)
