The OL and DL recruitment has me extremely excited. Pull in some LB, DB, and WR like you said and I'm pretty optimistic. If we pull out 8-4 or 9-3 this year this class will stay in tact. Really think we're going to surprise this year assuming we don't lose 1/2 of our D again this year.

Some remaining targets
Dorian Gerald- JUCO DE. Between Us and USCe. Committing soon. Expect this guy to be a high 4* when they actually evaluate JUCO
Jordan Minor- 4* CB. Looks like we trail Penn State. Commitment date the 6th
Jaycee Horn- 4* CB. Trail Alabama and USCe. Commitment the 15th
Jerome Carvin- 3* OL. Bewteen UT and Alabama. I think this guy will get bumped to a 4*
PJ Mustipher- 4* DT. Might(?) trail Penn State here
Jordan Davis- 4* DE. VQ makes it sound like there is no chance.
Daniel Faalele- 3* OL. Massive tackle that is a project. unknown where we stand.
Cam Jones- 3* LB. Lead for
Xavier Peters- 4* LB. Kentucky leads for. He has grade and off the field problems
Tanner Antonutti- 3* OL. Not a take atm, but ours if we want him
Azeez Ojulari- 4* DE. Probably in 3rd to 4th place for atm
There are some targets I forgot/unaware of and new targets always pop up between now and signing day.

I feel like we a 5* at a skill position to complete this class.

Would be a great finishing touch and add some needed flash. Maybe if Dormady tears it up we will get some looks.

Sounds like we may be getting some good news on Gerald pretty soon

Didn't he just commit to UK?

And decommit less than 24 hours later
Not sure I would want him regardless of talent

Big update for the good guys from Rivals Chad Simmons regarding 4* CB Jayce Horn out of Alpharetta.

The latest on Horn...
If you follow Jaycee Horn on Twitter, there has been some #GBO hashtags.
I have confirmed he has scheduled a visit to Knoxville for July 20 and he is "likely not" going to commit July 15th like he originally planned to. I personally do not see why he would commit July 15th unless he was committing to the Vols if he is going to be at UT five days later, so we will see how it shakes out.
South Carolina has been considered the big frontrunner here, so is he pushes his commitment back, this really gives UT a shot at Horn. He has been in "regular" contact with the Vols' staff I have been told.
When checking around about other schools back in the mix, Tennessee is the only one.
Stay tuned. The Vols seem to be fighting for this one.

We better be sending hookers and blow. Really need some true outside corners.

Horn would be YUGE. Peters seems like a long shot, and would probably change his mind even if he did commit to us anyway.

Dorian Gerald committed. Great film (competition?) and offer list. This dline class is elite and it's not done yet.

I'm not positive which city they are from, but he said that distance was not a factor. Pointed to the fact that he has lived in LA the last 2 years and enjoyed being on the other side of the country.
Just saw where he's from Florence. If you're SC, losing out on him has gotta hurt.

South Carolina fans have been salty as hell on just about every board that I have been on outside of this one. Jesse Simonton said on today's podcast that Muschamp has been one of the most active coaches trying to negatively recruit players against Tennessee and it is completely blowing up in his face.
I hope we get Jaycee Horn and then embarrass South Carolina at home this year.

I'm praying we get him, in llarge part because we need DBs in this class but USCjr is starting to get on my nerves. We gotta smoke them at home this year.

I'd be willing to be that guy who takes one for the team and starts a Muschamp sucks chant as he's walking off the field.

Doesn't surprise me that it's blowing up in his face. Recruits don't respond well to that shite. They're looking for a place to call home for 4 years, want to know if you can take care of them, help them achieve their goals academically, and help them achieve their goals after football whether that's in the NFL or elsewhere. Bitching constantly about someone else to a recruit you want to attract to your program is a lot like bitching constantly about your ex to your blind date. (I'm running the moment it happens and you can bet on a lot football recruits and their families doing likewise). JUCOs are far more jaded about the process and going negative with them seems an even bigger error.
And yeah, the saltiness has been weird as hell. Entertaining but weird.

Florida and South Carolina fans loading up on the Salt -- I'm loving it.

From the UF Board:
"I understand it's only July, but some point you gotta step it up. Butch Jones who's on the hot seat has a top 5 class rn. Like wtf is he telling these kids? Brick by brick??" "Tennessee must be getting the best class money can buy."

From USCe Board:
Not one true DE on our roster and this guy (Gerald) picks the Vols? SMDH. Watch them pull Jaycee Horn from us too. Thought Butch was on the hot seat? Certainly doesn't seem to be having an effect on their recruiting (at least against us). "If we lose Gerald and Horn to them that is not good. No doubt UTjr are masters of negative recruiting. We just need to be able to counter that stuff." "Until SC chooses to play w the big boys this will keep happening. Right now muschamp is only selling a vision and its clear everyone is using that against us. Gerald will be looking for a new home soon tho. When ut flops again this year butch will be gone"

I don't think there's ever been hotseat talk as far out of proportion with reality as there's been with Jones. Obviously he can frick up and put himself right out the door with a bad season but the reality of the situation is far different from what the media and fans think right now. Expectations and pressure won't change but whether or not to pull the trigger and fire someone is a much more complicated matter.
It might be different if we were in an era where there were tons of talented coaches proven to be better but the reality is that there aren't and those who are e.g. Saban, Meyer, etc. aren't leaving their current positions. And tempting a coach to come play Saban every year when he has a shot in another conference to make the playoffs from any P5 conference makes things a helluva lot harder.
LSU's move last season should've taught everyone that lesson. They are a comparable program with access to a deeper vein of in-state talent. They have O because the only one available and worth taking a chance on was Herman. LSU thought they'd be the only big school on the market and had Texas fired Strong before LSU fired Miles, I doubt LSU would've made the move they did (Miles would still be there because there just aren't that many worth risking what they had for). The coordinators O has are legit and LSU has more than enough talent to run on steam this season but I guarantee you Orgeron is not the guy anyone wanted to hire but the one they felt they had too when Herman fell through.

As for what we're selling... Folks can say what they want about Jones but in terms of the staff we currently have it's the best in the East hands down. We also had ya know draft picks - lot's of 'em that put to rest the negative recruiting that was going on when we missed two drafts.
