Not a flame, I'm honest to god just wondering what games he's played in a hostile environment. I'm sure there's a couple I just can't think of any. I would appreciate some info Bama fans.

Beaver Stadium last year, Neyland (even though it almost looked like a Bama game in the stands)

His second start was in front of 100k+ in Happy Valley last year. He's also started games at Auburn and at Tennessee (you said hostile environments, not good teams). Everything LSU fans told us was that the Super Dome would be brutal for him last year, not sure the crowd materialized that way, but that was the biggest stage you can be on.

He played a pick up game off of MLK in Mobile once.

@ Florida in 2011, vs LSU in the National Championship game in 2011, and @ Penn State was a pretty decent crowd I guess. They didn't, and don't, have much of a football team, though. @ Tennessee in 2012 was a pretty good crowd.
Still, I'd say @ Florida in 2011 was most hostile.

Thhhaaatttt's why he got that chest tattoo. Street cred in the hood of Mobile. Now it makes sense!

@ Penn State
@ Florida (Night Game)
@ Auburn
@ Tennessee (Night Game)
Four of the toughest places to play.

In his starts road games have usually quickly become blowouts so the hostility is short lived.
He has played at Penn State, at Florida, at Ole Miss, at Mississippi State, at Auburn, at Arkansas, at Missouri, at Tennessee and had neutral games against Michigan and LSU (in New Orleans).
Again, for the most part these turned out to only be hostile for a short while, but he has isn't exactly green away from BDS either.

Last years UF game was loud as frick, at least close to what Tiger Stadium will be like Saturday.

And he ran the offense very well that night. And that game was loud into the fourth quarter because we were only up 14 in the third and were playing that conservative ball I hated so much.

@ Penn State
@ Florida
@ Starkville (dem cowbells)
@ Auburn
vs LSU in NOLA
@ Tennessee
And in these six games McCarron's averages were as follows :
198 YPG, 1.3 TDPG, 0.17 INTs per game, and he had a completion percentage of 65%. He is 6-0 in these very hostile environments.

So in all honesty he's never played a quality opponent in a hostile environment. The dome on 1/9 was 50/50. Mad props to Bama's traveling. He did perform incredible in that game and he's been great so far this year. But we'll see what happens if one thing goes wrong and 92,400 deafening fans are hailing upon him while Mingo and Montgomery feed off the crowd.
13-10 LSU

@UF is the only one that is really comparable

If LSU fans are true to form, the environment will be more hostile to Mett than McCarron about half way through the 3rd quarter.

Also,
PSU had a good D when we played them last year.
UF had a good D last year.
MSU had a good D last year.
AU was the Iron Bowl so that adds intensity no matter how much AU sucked.

I'd say last year's Florida team was as good as this year's LSU team, tbh.

Crowd noise is overrated in my opinion. Sure...it can lead to false starts and some problems with hearing what plays are being called in an audible, but that doesn't really matter when you're facing a quality opponent. The last real good team to play in Tiger Stadium at night was '09 Florida and they won that game 13-3.

quote:Yeah I was there. That dome had absolutely nothing on death valley. At very most it was 65/35 LSU. At that you have 52000 or so LSU fans. We'll have a solid 90,000 come Saturday night.
No it wasn't.

Understandable, but it wasn't an even 50/50 split. LSU obviously had more, but it wasn't by much.
