Btw, Saban took a roster of NFL players and coached against other NFL teams and wasn't very successful, what makes anyone think he could take a roster of 18-21 year old college kids and play against an NFL team and be successful? Or stay within 40?
Actually he took a 4-12 Miami team and went 9-7 in 2005. QB issues in 2006 led to a 6-10 season.

Well, probably because this team at The University is better than the teams he had at Miami.
Was he ever a 24pt underdog while coaching the Dolphins?

Why must there be the worst NFL team/best college team discussion every year?
Because there used to be an annual matchup up of college all-stars and the NFL/AFL champion. People are still interested in seeing how that would play out now.

Like 60 or 70 years ago? The game has changed, no college team would stay within 30 of the worst NFL team.

It was played until the 1980s.

If Bama is a 24 point dog to the Chiefs then LSU would be a 40 point dog.

Any NFL team could name their score on any college team. I can't believe this shite is even being discussed.

Out of curiosity, what was the record in those games?

Wow, you're a clever lad.

The college all-stars won nine of the matchups over the years. The last coming in 1963. Most of the games were fairly close.

Bama would beat the Browns

It's like Boise State IMO. They would get demolished if they had to play a full SEC schedule, but they could hang or even beat an SEC team for 1 game even though their talent level is far inferior to any SEC team.
Bama couldn't withstand an NFL schedule, but they could hang with a bad NFL team for 3 quarters. They'd still lose, but 24 points isn't a ridiculous number IMO.

Jaguars are the worst NFL team so Dan is already wrong. Without mojo and at home no way they would cover
Posted on 10/31/12 at 11:23 am to Titus Pullo
bama would not score on KC and would probably lose by about 50....assuming they call the dogs off.

Actually, I think the gap is smaller now between the college and the NFL. Just look at all the rookie QBs who have played at a high level in recent years. Big Ben, Matt Ryan, Flacco, RGIII, Luck, Cam, and Dalton are just a few QBs who more than held their own as rookie QBs. In the past, rookie QBs rarely succeeded and were overwhelmed by the speed and athleticism of the NFL. Today's rookie QBs don't seem to have as much difficulty adjusting to the speed of the NFL.

That's true, there's also more RBs, receivers, etc. playing well as rookies. The issue would be on the lines. I don't care how good a college line is, when you're going up agianst 30 year old veterans it would just be total domination.
