my stepdad says the major problem w/ Douglas county football is that they have too many schools...

in south georgia, you have 1 or 2 schools per county...the talent pool is alot greater...DC and Lithia WERE better before they built Alexander and Chapel Hill...

before Lithia it was even better..see what I mean..spreading each school too thin makes them weak..

plus their rec program is a joke...something that is also better in South Georgia...

Played against Kosta Koufos (Ohio State and now Utah Jazz center) in basketball and Kendall Washington (3 star WR, went to WVU but nothing really came of it) in football. That's all I know of.

EDIT: Koufos is 7'1. Our tallest kid was 6'3. Not a nice matchup. Also, had we won our regional final game in my sophomore year of high school, we would have had to play North College Hill. They were the #1 ranked team in the nation and had OJ Mayo (USC, Grizzlies) and Bill Walker (Kansas State, Celtics)

I graduated in '75, the year before LSHS opened. We were on double sessions for the 3 years prior, 1st session was 7:00 til 12:00. 2nd session was 12:30 til 5:30...

We had over 4000 students & were the biggest school in the states for 3 years & only won 1 region Championship...

This is what I was referring to. Their middle schools only allow a certain amount of players out where as Cobb County recs will let anybody out. Plus the coaching at the rec in DC is hit or miss and it's usually a miss.
